If you were to pick only one of the major Velious factions to align yourself with, which would it be?
The Coldain of Thurgadin:490 (37.5%)
The Dragons of Skyshrine :512 (39.2%)
The Giants of Kael Drakkel:70 (5.4%)
Nevermind them, here's to the children of Tunare:98 (7.5%)
None of them - they all must be slaughtered:123 (9.4%)

FIRST POST!

The guild I was in when I moved into Velious was on Giant Faction for various strategic reasons. So I factioned up to Ally with all 3 Giant Factions. We would literally set up in front of Thurgardin and slaughter dorfs for hours.

That guild went the way of all good things, and all the other guilds were Coldain/CoV aligned. I literally went from full Ally to Kromzek/Kromrif/KT to full Ally Coldain/CoV. I lived in Kael, where I once sold and banked. Areana rules, lol. Coldain in particular took forever, but once I was high enough I worked up pottery and had Thurg Gate potions as a big bonus. It was still a huge pain, but FACTION MATTERED. For quests, raids, epics, etc, etc, faction mattered. It hardly does anymore.

:(

PS I have never, ever killed a thing in PoG. Consequently, it's a lovely vaction spot, with friendly inhabitants. See, faction matters, lol.

The guild I was in we were on Giant faction, killin' those dang dragons was nice

When one of my old charecters was in a Velious raiding guild, we changed factions weekly depending on what was up. But most of the time we were on Giant.

Imo it's pretty lame how coldains and dragons have working cities with plenty of shops, while giants just have few shops then it's simply a big place to kill stuff. >_>

So I go for giants! Dragons are much funner to see falling, and coldains give me the creeps.

Max ally (still) to both the dwarves and dragons, though with my bard I'll keep the dragon faction for the quests out of Skyshrine.

Most of my toons stick with Skyshrine/Coldain.

My Lost Ranger of Tunare however, at a young impressionable age, was taken advantage of by a handsome beguiling Coldain Wolfmaster.

She still holds a grudge and kills all Coldain on site.

i could never pick one... kill them all, let god (or the gods) sort them out!.. but actually my ranger is on dragon / dorf factions.. but that doesnt matter! (damn treehuggers)

Back in the old days, when Velious was still a newly-found continent, my noble elven cleric did many a task in aiding the kindly dwarves and the ancient, mighty dragons. He still to this day wears several pieces of armor from those two races, and has choreographed the destruction of many a giant.

These days, though, my newest incarnation is opposed to that goody-goody cleric in all fashions. My necromancer has slaughtered freely, without a care, any and all upon the shores of Velious.

Dwarfs because they have the easiest quests. However I think most people declair war on the giants sicne they are for quests for both dragons and Dwarves. Giants are just hateful SOB's.

I have been ally to all 3 factions at some point in my Rangers wonderings. Dragons solely by accident mind you. Those eveil beast who believe they rule all shall fall to the might of my bow. I regularly go and slay a few dragons when I can.

When Velious came out, I was a level 58 Dark Elf Rogue. Faction was an important part of my gameplaying.

The Velious faction system is perfect in every way and has not been matched since in EQ or any game.

That said, my faction choices were based on zone availability and exposure early on. What I mean is, I started out non-KOS to Dwarves so I kept it that way. The giants were KOS and I did not see Skyshrine right away. I decided to work on Giant faction without hurting Dragon or Dwarf faction, mainly through quests (Icepaw Kobold Paws, etc.)

I managed to get non-kos with Giants and enjoyed roaming freely in Kael. Then, I discovered why you should not drag corpses there...

My Rogues career ended shortly after and I started my Monk. I made a concious effort to get in good with the dragons and she is currently on dwarf and dragon faction, ally with both.

I have always wanted the dragon faction because it was by far the coolest city. Also, theres only one main faction, and only yelinak is on the other. In kael its hard to get both.


BTW, I am max citizens of frostone (sumtin like that) wooot beat that.

i picked dragons since they are the only ones who like me. i ended up bottoming out both, my coldain and giant factions from killing their respected leaders. :/

I am KoS to all, killed lots of dragons and lots for giants. I don't believe I am liked by anyone in Velious except the Othmir in CS..LOL.

Until now I was killing Giants to get the Coldain Prayer Shawl. As soon as I have finished the last quest, I'm going to slaughter those dwarves whereever I may find them. Kromrif/Kromzek FTW!

I would have to say Dragon faction. Makes it a sight easier to hunt in Western Wastes and Wakening Land without having to worry about dragons breathing down your neck.

But I have multiple chars on different factions, so I can scout Kael and Thurg safely hehe...

I'ld pick the Dwarfs. I've never been to the Dragon city and the giants hate me. And I like doing the shawl quests, they give me a reason to keep upping my tradeskills.

Never been to Velious since i don't have the expan YET :( (yeah i know i'm behind but a year in iraq will do it). But who needs factions with them when i am allyed with the main faction there is MYSELF :))>
