It's the fate of every mmorpg. You best just let it go.

I am sure every Melee remembers the hours of Camping for the FBSS, or the Acent Cyclops in OOT. And lets not forget the just zoning into East Freeport or BB and hearing Boat. But those were fun times that made memories and gave you the chance to talk and make friends that last years.

I remember having to take a boat through OoT/Erud's Crossing... I miss that... why did they have to put the stupid translocaters in there? And PoK... I loved the Nexus... but PoK was such a drag... =(

For every thing I have fond memories of I have 2 bad memories (just talking changed things). The maps, the corpse summon to lobby, the port stones/NPC's, the keeping the pet when you zone/invis/hide, the bazaar, the guild hall, more bank space are all good good things, and I certainly don't miss the things they replaced.

The only thing I miss is the quantity of people to level up with and the ability to get groups at lower levels. Nothing will/can bring that back.

I remember being a stupid newb, and using my bandages (Rogue) on a War who was shouting "Donating for a bind at Qeynos gate"! I also miss that his reaction wasn't to flame, but explain what I did wrong, and hand me some left over gear (WOOT! Gnoll Whip! Finally a magic item I can kill will-o-wisps with and see at night!). Smiley: lol

Of course, this is an evolving game, and everything changes over time. I find that when I'm feeling nostalgic, I play my toon on the test server, but not at times like now. When the main servers are down, you see a ton of LVL25's running around acting like idiots!

So True...

I started a new char a while back and all my old leveling grounds were deserted, although "back in the day" I use to wish that no one was in the zones, casue camps were always taken...

Priceless!

Remember the guy who ran to see the train, because the boats were pretty cool, so the train must be too.

How many newbs have died to their first mod rod?

How many of us accepted a bunch of copper coins some higher level was "donating" to the newb? I was too stubborn to drop or destroy them, and someone took pity and gave me a strength buff that allowed me to slowly work my way to the bank.

Has anyone seen my corpse?

FAYMART!!!

Leaving 10+ corpses scattered thru Crush from a very noob CR gone very badly.

Camping the table in the tower in Crush, thinking we were the **** cause we could hold that camp for hours on end with no deaths..

Newbies. I realize that they like the fast leveling they get in the Dungeon, but I miss newbies outside every city ready to sell bat, rat and wolf parts. Met a lvl 25 wood elf that didn't know kelethin was a tree city today. WTF wanted to cry.

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be!

OK. I'll admit it. I still occasionally go to CB at Lvl 70 to show D'vinn and Crush what pwnage really means!

How many hours were spent killing the hermit is southern karana. Or working your way up from orcs in commonlands, to dervs in commonlands, to highhold pass for orcs or gnolls, then to HHK for gobbies,...MAN that was the good old days. or killing the griffens in east karana, or,... i'm rambling!

Running in my lvl teens from Qeynos to Freeport just for the heck of it, then having to wait until sunup to run through Kithicor.

Guys the old content is still out there. Take a break from AA grinding, plat farming, and raiding, and go rediscover your old stomping grounds.

You'll normally find all the rare Nameds up because noone is killing them like back in the old days. None of the old camps will be taken due to competition. AND... you can kill just about anything in any of the zones without fear of your hp dropping more than 1%.

No it won't be like the old days, where the zones are filled with people, and you run in fear from all the big bad monsters, but you will find the trip down memory lane a pleasant rewarding expierence.

Have fun!

Orc Hill in Faydark is my greatest memory. I still thought I had to press "a" EVERY time I should hit mobs. Needless to say I had to learn how to find my corpse....

Remember the trains to the EC tunnel where all the UBER toons would save your life. Then they'd have a train contest where the one to pull the most mobs to them would get a prize. If you wanted to buy something, you had to go to the bank with the person, because the money was too heavy to carry.

It's also been awhile since I saw anybody do a really fancy corpse layout with dozens and dozens of corpses forming a nice pattern, that was incredible when viewed from above.
