I also suggest to target your corpse (BTW, a corpse with equipment looks different than a corpse with no equipment, as you can see the graphics for some of the items being worn) and type /loot. As you are sure this is your only corpse, another thought is to target it and /corpse to drag it off the spot it is sitting and then try to loot it.
Also, the "lose all your equipment" thing is somewhat outdated. It used to be that you had a certain time window to get back to your corpse and loot it (7 days real life time from when you died). After that the corpse would poof and take with it all the stuff on the corpse at the time. Nowadays we have the graveyard where a corpse goes to after it poofs. You can merely go to the graveyard and retrieve the corpse that way.
This is different from a ress timer (something you will care more and more about as you gain levels). A corpse can get a ress within an accumlated 3 hours (real life time) of in game time after your death. So if I die on Monday and stay in the game for 3 straight hours after my death the ress timer runs out and I can no longer regain lost exp from the death. However, if my real life time is limited, I can camp out (totally leave the game, meaning I can't switch to another toon on that same account) and get back into the game on say Wednesday and still have whatever was left on my 3 hour ress timer not used up by time I spent in the game between dying and camping out. This means that if I got out of the game soon enough, I could even be away from the game more than a week and still get my ress when I retrieve my corpse from the graveyard later.
