Bank/Inventory Space - Are You a Packrat?Follow

#27 Feb 12 2006 at 12:13 AM Rating: Decent
See, you guys have it easy. My main (and only played character) is on FV. Great, everything is tradeable, but only one toon to store stuff (i did recently inherit a second account, but that's still just two). I just destroyed about five bags of foraged stuff (doesnt help that my only allowable character on the server is a ranger hehe). I can't wait til 8 new bank spaces, and neither can most of the population of FV :)

Just a statement. SONY.. WTF.. I do need the bank space, but not sure I need it bad enough to buy a new expansion. I just will make another alt to hold more stuff. I still have not used much or seen more than a few zones of the last 3 expansions.. think this one will have to wait.

I've farmed a lot of tradeskill compoments and several half finished quest stuff. Since then I've managed to finish up a number of the quests in the past month with one still outstanding (Shawl quest).

Some of the tradeskill stuff plus crapload of kaladim constitutionals and misty thicket picnics have been moved to a temporary mule. I figure a grand total of 200 stacks on my bazaar mule and another 200 on a temp mule.

Even with the 2 mules, I'm still fighting the bank space with several unknown no drop items that needs to be researched as it's probably more quests that I haven't figured out yet.

If I'm not pressed for space, I usualy leave the shared bank with just 2 empty 10 slots containers for transerring junk to bazaar mule.

I will be glad when PoR goes live then I can get some of my tradeskilled stuff back to my main and finish them off without having to constantly relog between main and mules.

To the person Batman sixtysix, the new expansion is just a tad over $3 per bank space for one character so it's cheap. In my case with main and 2 mules, the total cost would be a hair over $1 per slot.

Packrats-r-us

I am a packrat, I will find a use for this what-ever-it-is someday, maybe, I hope.

What I would really like to see is a container like a steamer trunk that would hold 20 Giant if not more...let the think weigh so much you cant move except in bazaar I dont care just more slots to fill more bank spaces...lol

I one day autobanked an epic piece and it turned out i had no room left. It switched it back to my inventory, which was then full. So i had a full inventory and bank, so i cleared everything out (i mean cmon, i dont need that no-drop tooth for a shadowknight only newbiequest for whose deity is like bert, and is set in neriak (im a halfling warrior)). So now i have tons of breathing room, its just awesome to be able to not have my bank in my inventory.

I have way to much old attuned equipment I just cant bear to get rid of. I would love to see a option where we could un attune it. Set it up like removeing augs in the bird bath and make it expensive.

Bank is full on most of 8 characters. I have to store stuff in inventory bags. I have at most two empty bags on a character to use for loot. Needless to say, I loot stuff that stacks or stuff that is very valuable.

I am full, but not so much that i am using alts to hold stuff for my main. I am getting the expansion for the sole purpose of the bank slots. No other reason. Sony really needs to slow down on the expansions, i think the bank slots could have just been added to all accounts without an expansion.

/rant on

I am sure there are people that feel that there should be a new expansion, but i am still working on PoP progression(EP flagged finally) DoN Progression, I have killed Emoush, DoD Progression, have done about half the spell arcs, but not completed them, I need spell runes, badly for 69 and 70, and other things that will be harder to get as people start on the expansion, and leave the old zones behind.

Not to mention the exploits that will be around for the not tested expansion. After the last one i cannot even begin to guess how bad this one will be, but i have the expansions on preorder, and will pick them up on the 21st, and will install the key that day, and check out the revamped zones, and /shout in POK, "YEA, More Bank Slots." as the server crashes.

In a way, lack of bankspace is SOE's fault. If they wouldn't have made thousands upon thousands of items in the game and require so many components for tradeskills, quests, and epic pieces, we wouldn't have this problem. Furthermore, when you need one toon just to sell your wares in in the bazaar, well I think that is just bazaar! We need a system where we can just deposit our items into an Ebay-like server and let people bid on them while we do our questing, killing, etc. This would save us from having to keep our PCs on throughout the night and during work hours.
There are more creative ways to handle our space needs, SOE, and I don't think another eight spaces is really going to do it. Ask everyone in six months if they have more space, and the answer will be the same as it is now.

By the way, you may want to start thinking about getting a search engine for our bank inventory.

Don't forget you can send a corpse to Shadowrest and it will stay there until you retrieve it. Got old gear you can't bear to delete? Ship it off to Shadowrest, problem solved.

I can sum up bank problems in one phrase : Breakdown in Communication

Anyone who is working on this quest has mastered the art of corpse rots in shadowrest. Also anyone who tinkers AAAAs also has to store more than thier fair share of crap. /salute to all questers and tradeskill nuts!!!

Programming wise, its relatively easy to program a 30-slot container. Its just an array of 30 instead of 10. There is no reason they couldnt have just added a 30 slot Steamer Trunk or something that weighs 100 lbs empty. That way ppl couldnt carry them around but could still have the space in their bank.
In fact its harder to program more bank slots than it is to make a 30 slot container.

Having 30 slots x current bank slots (+ the new ones) should be enough for most ppl except the mass item tradeskillers

Next poll should be "How many people are going to buy the new expansion because for the 8 extra bank slots.
I am sure I will. LOL

i was packet to the limit.. now on 1 account im the owner of 2 guildbanks (in almost dead guilds),so 400 extra spaces in the guildbank, and 40 in deposit.
maxing tailoring also solved half of the space prob. now i can finally get rid of half done subcombines ) and make space for maxing next tradeskill. yes, will be needing more space. as always /sigh

i love tradeskills ! (yeah, i know im a freak)
i hate the space it takes up in my bags

I don't do tradeskills and all of mine are stuffed...in fact had to make alts just for slots. So saddd, such a packrat am I.

I'm using Shadowrest for bank space, where I periodically /duel someone, die, and let the corpse with the items get dumped there over a week. Then, when I need to retrieve stuff, I just go there, grab what I need.

Well .. stated with the ongoing battle .. but that comes most due the life of of Hobbit. This whacky guy collects everything in his area, that might be somewhen somehow of use for him ... and due to that, he is baker, brewer, tailor, fisherman, and hell yes .. a bit of smith too, guess what he might collect all day long! Well honestly most of that stuff is just for baking and brewing ... Why has this race always to think of eating???

Well so as hobbits are, he also has stuffed some of his things in other bags (means that his kind elven friends store the one or other thing for him too ..) and so these bankstore is almost on their limit too ))

Smiley: bowdown cenoldar, I bow to your packratedness and your clever idea to double your bank space without a new release. You have only 4 posts, but that one gets a rate up from me.

Space is always an issue, which is why I have all of my slots filled with the hightest capacity bags and/or boxes to give me more room. Its tight, but, its managable.

Because all my characters like to tradeskill, and I save practically everything that says "this item can be used in tradeskill", I was forced to open a new account that has 8 tradeskill mules.

And ALL of theier bank slots are now full!

Whooppee for more bank slots.
