Somehow, this is how eq2 ends up:

Halas is gone
Qeynos is one of the large empires
Erudin is gone
Paineel is gone
Shar val is exploded!!!
Surefall is a midget forest
High elf city is gone
Kelethin is gone
Akanon is gone
Dwarf city is gone
Rivervale is still standing
Neriak is all undead and completely ruined
Freeport is one of the large empires
Oggok is gone
Troll city is gone

How did it happen:

This is my theory. Shar val is the easiest (in lore), blown up by gods, all of the "gone cities" are taken over /merged with other cities, Freeport and qeynos are big (take over all), rangers and droods move out of surefall (gets smaller), and rivervale takes over neriak (evidence is that halfling skellies are found in neriak. perhaps a big battle happened in there. Also rivervale is still standing, thus indicating that hobbits won!!!)

Also, when it gets to dungeons (WTF) lol...

Crushbone is gone
Rujikarin hills is tiny
Runnyeye is HUGE!!!
Blackburrow got slightly bigger

My theory is that elves killed crushbone, freeport did its job on rujikarin hills orcs (deathfist), Rivervale was weakened (runnyeye able to grow) and qeynos got lazy and didnt do its job with blackburrow (i mean c'mon, qeynos has to have enough teeth to make it the plane of the tooth fairy)!

If anyone knows any of this, pls post. If you have ideas, pls post. Thx... jeez, i have waaay to much time on my hands

It's all explained (or mostly at least) in EQ2. Check out some of their sites and forums for lore info.

Unfortunately the writing for eq2 game lore really stinks. The ending of the war is lame and half assed.

Good luck trying not to hurl when reading it.

the destroyed cities and dungeons are mostly explained by luclin hitting norrath.

EQOA (ps2 version) is set BEFORE EQ (pc version).

EQ2 is set AFTER EQ.

Actually the lore for EQ2 is quite interesting, even though it is not quite complete and leaves many open questions.

In a nutshell....if you're ingame and not in Qeynos or Freeport and you see a GM event labeled "Incoming...Piece of Luclin!" I would haul butt to one of those 2 cities! Smiley: lol
