Just wondering if this is in fact a known bug.

/rant sorta on

My Half Elf Rogue was created in Kelethin. A while back I kept getting a message on login to set his home city. I set it to Kelethin, again and again.

Couple days ago I had occasion to use the Go Home feature and guess where I pop? Qeynos. Lucky for me, I fixed faction there, I WAS KoS after doing the Scout's Blade quest out of Kelethin (for you old-timers). Thing is I HATE Qeynos rogue guild heh...

Anyway I /petition. One guess as to the response...ok here it is:

RESPONSE: Please use /bug to report this, have a nice day...

Ok so I /bug it, then I /petition again.

Second response from Named GM:

NAMED GM: This is a known bug that the developers are diligently working to fix..blah blah blah...you are SoL...have a nice day...

OK so why not tell me this the first time?

How hard is this to fix? Methinks the Developers are working hard on PoR not on fixing a feature introduced with...OMG 2 expansions ago!

OK so nothing to get your panties in a twist over...no not quitting EQ and you can't have my stuff!

/rant off for now...

It is a known bug. "Origin" AA has the same issue. I know there is a thread on the EQLive boards related to this.

I think there was a comment that the fix requires changing some code; however, they don't like to change code before a new expansion due to the potential issues. Issues like this will be addressed when the new expansion is up and running.

How is SOE going to fix any bugs when they have to turn out a new expansion every 6 months and it takes 2-4 months to fix what they screwed up by releasing the expansion.

Well, the issues fall into a few categories:

1. Issues that players can profit/benefit: These will be addressed immediately. Rollbacks can and will happen.

2. Player ingenuity that makes an encounter easier than intended: These will be addressed immediately. Rollbacks can and will happen.

3. Sony forgot some code that makes player life easier (i.e. like a mob doesn't proc or it drops its entire loot table instead of just three items): These will be addressed immediately. Rollbacks can and will happen.

4. Issues that are an inconvienience to players (like this issue): Players will learn to deal with it and will eventually stop complaining about it. It will never be fixed.

4 (alternate solution) Issues that inconvienience players (like this issue): Players will receive a refund for their Origin AA. Origin and Return Home functions will be removed from the game. Issues solved. This will probably require rollbacks.
