Look, there is NO easy path to high level blacksmithing. You can follow the guides on eqtraders.com to maximize your work but it will still take time. When high enough you can do Enchanted Velium Bits up to 222. From there, you descend in either mortgaging the farm to buy supplies or hours upon hours of farming green mobs for drops.

The only one worse is Tailoring, IMO.

Is there a reason you need high level or just interested? If just interested, then take your time and have fun. If you need something consider approaching someone to make it for you. Just some thoughts.

What race are you?

Barbarians get a pretty cheap skillup path to the 200's through DoN cultural smithing.

The two main components that can get you from 100 to about 212 are high quality ore which is made from fine steel weapons (easily farmed) and condensed ice. Condensed ice is free since it drops from mobs that are a piece of cake. On the other hand, it is not plentiful so expect to spend countless hours farming it.

By far the cheapest (to 250-ish) is Shadowscream Armor. This requires extensive farming and doing the Shar Val smithing quest to get your hammer and anvil.

Not to diminish your accomplishment but I can get any toon to 111 in smithing in under 3 hours and for under 300pp. Good luck for the next 200 skillups!

100-115 try banded tunics
116-132 try cultural needles
to 120ish shadow disks (need shar val quest)
132-160ish cultural sewing kits
to 168 humming orbs (need shar val quest)
168+ DoN cultural or switch to Shadowscream.

Royal Velium armor is rather cheap but lots of farming to keep it that way (to 175)

Enchanted Velium bits to 222 but 17pp per pop and no re-sale value.

Other useful tips:

Have your STR or WIS/INT maxxed. I am guessing for your warrior STR would be easiest to max. Chances of a skillup on a combine are based on these stats. Also after skill 200 you have < 5% chance of skillup on any combine and it gets worse Smiley: frown

About getting stats up, for smithing, anything above 400 is a waste. It does not help you. Matter of fact, there is diminishing return after about 250 or so stats, however, they do help a bit. Get your STR/WIS/INT to 400 for smithing and there is no worries.

ok let me rephrase my question, i'm an ogre warrior looking to make grand master armor, only a few on my server do it and they are normally alts to jack prices and make money off of everyone, what's 50000 for other races BP and such is 2-4 times more for ogre's.

no offense to eqtraders but alot of their stuff is outdated now with oow, DoN, DoDH, and GoD.

as for my stats i'm a 70 warrior, my str is over 400 and since i'm wearing stuff that is warrior/cleric gear i have over 400 wis as well.

i'm just looking for simple combines like 2-3 items to make one thing not stuff that takes 5-6 items to get one skill up.

but thanks for some of the ideas already.

Not going to happen unfortunatley. 2-3 combines will get you to around the high 100s, but not high enough for GM armor. Thats going to take things like shadowscream armor and the like, at least if you want ot keep costs down.

Have you looked closely? They actually are quite on top of updating when new expansions come out.

How could it be outdated? Did Sony change the trivial levels or the end products? Eqtraders puts in new information as it becomes available and the old stuff is still relivant except maybe the Sell to vendor prices

Back to OP:
Embroidering Needles Trivial 122
Ornate Chail Leggings Trivial 135
Cultural Sewing kits Trivial 162
Fine Plate Bracers Trivial 168 (requires leather Padding)
Enchanted Velium Bits Trivial 222 level 165 required to make. Best sources of Velium peices is reclaimming Velium Weapons 2-7 peices per weapon. Tazmaks in GD are a great source of weapons.

The highest any stat can be with armor and AAs is 365 at level 70, certain buffs can raise certain stats temporarily, ie Wunchis, but without those buffs your Strength etc. cannot go over 365.

Warlord, eqtraders is most definitely not out of date. The trivial lists are VERY useful in deciding paths. There is also something floating around called the "Economical Smith" that I found very helpful but that IS out of date.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the simple cheap combine you are hoping for just doesn't exist to the levels you need to attain to make GM armor. Getting the TS AAs will help but still need to get pretty high up. There is a calculator on EQtraders that will tell you what % success change you have at what levels and with what AAs. Be prepared to see it tell you that even with AAs, to succeed at GM DoN armor with any decent chance will take 240-250+ raw skill. There is a reason people can ask for 50K+.

Follow the steps on eqtraders.com to the 200 range its not bad $$ wise But above 222 is a different story

The mistletoe cutting sickles get you 1100p Favor at tribute They cost about 300p to make if you buy all the componets

I have got mine to 180something on fine plate and mistletoe cutters

also ask guildies for help they will bennifit by having a grandmaster smith if you ever make it.

Good luck

You might want to check with your guild about getting you a Massive Girdle of the Forge it has a 10% smithing modifer if you don't have better. A couple pet handlers and a cleric can take the mob.
