Who here plays on Stromm?Follow

#1 Jan 29 2006 at 7:22 PM Rating: Decent
After doing some research on this and other eq forums, it appears that Stromm has the highest population of low to mid level players (Maelin came in 2nd). For this reason, I have decided to start a new character on Stromm server or maybe transfer my current character there. If you play on Stromm, please share your views on the current status of this server. Also, if its not too hard can you also do "/who 1 20" and "/who 20 40" and post here how many players are online in these ranges (around this time). Thats all, thanks guys.

I just re-started on Stromm. Does seem to be a young server, more so than Povar. There are plenty of people around in the newb areas and bazaar prices indicate lots of young toons (mediocre gear selling high, standard TS farming stuff like eggs, silks and skins selling low)

I don't have those 'who' numbers for you, if I think about it next time I'm logged in maybe I'll try and get them.

I have played on Stromm since it went live. I like the server, but im not sure how good the low-mid level game is. I recently rolled a new toon. After leaving GD I went looking to XP in the good old places......EC, WC, befallen, N ro ect......pretty much empty.....Kurns have about 16 in it and PC at the bandits and around 5-7 folk. Currently in Unrest after 3 trips there 2 times my group was the only folk in zone....one there were 2 others

Rant

On of the others in unrest was a 9 year old playing daddys toon. I have no issue with young kids playing, but it would be nice if the kids were supervised. The toon in question was a level 50 pally. Trains, KSing and more fun and games made a fun afternoon.

rant off

I concur with Baron von rosleck regarding Stromm's lowbie zone population. Even the old fasttrack PL highways are near empty. Pretty much, after lvl 11 you're on your own if you're not in a guild or know plenty of folks.

Not a bad thing if you're a solo'er or just want some solitude. Though, I have been known to sing in /ooc just to see something other than guild chat scroll across my chat box. =)

When I added my rant I forgot to mention that in the mid level game its a little dry as well....I have a 42 Shammy I drag out now and then and find very little to do....COM was once a great place to XP but last few trips there I was the only one in the zone.

Been on stromm forever and until WoW and EQ@ came out it always had a good population of young toons.

Dont know what to tell you but you are probably going to have low level population issues regardless of which server you choose. Stromm and MS would seem to be the best choices so it looks like your going to do as well as you can.

One other note. I know you mentioned you have already decided on Stromm but IMO the guild situation on stromm is the worst of any server I have played on. The impending closing of legends server and a several of their guilds coming to stromm would only seem to make this situations worse. Just my opinion/

Good Luck. and check back in to let us know how you are doing you may run into several of us in game.

I have several characters on Stromm, but I currently play more on Povar. I have been thinking about playing my Stromm characters more, so I have a question for Draco.

What do you mean when you say "the guild situation on stromm is the worst of any server I have played on"?

None of my Stromm characters are guilded, so I'm wondering what kind of situation I would be getting into if I start looking for a guild there.

Last night on Stromm, our level 14's were camping Scarabs and Tarantulas in NRo for a quest. Two others were camping the same mobs.

Encouraging?

That is very encouraging Elinda! When you're on next time, could you please get the "who" numbers for me?

Gah, the last thing I'm thinking about while slaying bugs is numbers!!

You could just start a toon there and get them.

on tuesday 1/31/06 11pm est, i did:

/who all 10, 20 and got the old "list cut short blah blah blah".

/who all 20. 30 and got same answer.

they can't all be baz mules. so yes, i would say that stromm has a pretty healthy low level population. now roll your new toon and come have some fun!

edit: i can't spell lol
