Glad to say I am returning to EQ after a rather LONG absence (over a year) and am wondering what has changed....I am seeing some things I didnt see before, like references to guild halls, etc etc....anything MAJOR I should know about before I log back in for the first time?

anything important to know about? besides the midget dragons that took over pok, not realy. sure there have been some changes (some big, some small; some good, some bad), but nothing that can't be learned relatively quickly once back in game. some highlights:
Guild Hall - from DoN expansion. an instanced "zone" with tradeskill facilities (loom, forge, etc), "healing pool' that restores mana/hp, bankers, guild bankers, etc that is accessible by a guild's members only. buff timers are suspended while here. very good addition imo.
Guild Lobby - between pok and gh. guild recruiting posts and corpse summoning npc's can be found here, as well as a teleporting "magus". quite useful.
Monster Missions - "shroud" into the form of a mob and do an instanced mission for xp (often disproportionate amounts) and loot with no risk to your character. Still not sure if this is good or bad lol.
That's all off the top of my head atm.
also, Morden Rasp is now Povar. and your old guild, Inverse Logic, I see them on Stromm, they probably moved en masse after the mergers.

The CS from $ony is even worse. Apparantly someone is in charge who doesn't have much experience with how the game is played (Or alternatively he DOES have a lot of playing time and is just dumb).
