after trying every mmorpg , and most during beta or right after release i've now learned to just stick with what you alreadsy like and wait a year after a game has been released to try it, look at horizons great game and concept building your own homes everything about the game was cool for the first 2 months then downfall the game started to suck and drop 50% population by 3rd month and then 70% the folling 2-3 months and now after retying the game the pop is still very low not realy worth playing unless you want the server to your self.

i know i will try dnd online it's made from turbine. i loved asheron's call 1 for 5 yrs hated ac 2 though and ac 2 still has issues i retryed this summer and pop wow i found 1 player online on a sunday

my advise if you don't have a lot of money to spend monthly i play 3 accounts at a time. use to pay 5. but wife got mad at $75 a month to gaming. so if you have a nagging spouce then don't get the game at realses wait 3 months at least. try the free 15 trial if there is one but let them work out the bugs first. if you play right away and find to many bugs you'll quit and maby never try again and in a year the game could become one of the main games to play

6. The overall look of the game is unimpressive, although the graphics technology is good. The costumes/armor are odd at best, and downright ridiculous at worst. Barbarian human chain looks identical to brigandine or scale, with only color being different. Some armors look nothing at all like what they supposedly are. Character body styles (fat, thin, muscular) are absent, and faces tend to look very much alike. The overall styling in the game is alien and often almost comical, instead of being realistic and fantasy/medieval. This is reflected in the city design as well. On the plus side, monsters look excellent. Wish I could play a monster.
In my dream world, every MMORPG uses a basic character model generator like City of Heroes and then adds "stacking" graphics for armor, weapons etc.

Oh, and you can tell different armor styles apart from one another beyond leather/chain/plate. Give me a seperate texture for banded, chain and splint.

sounds like never winter nights still best for dungeons and dragons online. i hope with never winter nights 2 the graphics improve and the larger playable groups and larger worlds and dungeons then befre. after bioware makes that they should realy work on nwn online permanit world for all of us to play with the more tradional ways of ADnD

i'm disapointed i hoped dod would be at least as good as asheron's call use to be a few years ago

Warchief couldnt have put it any better- every point he made was something I had problems with in this game. This game has some fundamental flaws that will not change as they are part of the DnD way of life. No mana regen, no hp regen, certain amount of times to cast spells the list goes on. I was thouroughly unimpressed and now Im kicking myself for preordering it.

After Horizons, Shadowbane, SWG, Anarchy online and AC2, you'd think I would have learned my lesson. The only game I bought and played from release that I truly enjoyed (at least til I hit the lvl cap) was WoW. Wait at least 3 months before playing an MMO because the hype is usually just that, hype.

Anyone want a discount copy of DDO?

Maderik nailed it.

I got in the DDO Alpha and I was really excited. I never even made it to the beta. It was fun for maybe a week and a half.
