Any 65+ Time equipped class could solo an old world dragon if the knew what to do.

hell a wizzie could probably do it in 1 shot before the Manaburn nerfs.

Most classes can if geared well enough.

I think old world dragons are limited to lvl 52 toons, but I know it's been done by that level character.By old world, I'm talking Vox and Naggy.

Of the "newer" dragons, although I haven't seen them all of course, some can be soloed. Faydedar is a cupcake, I'm sure he can be soloed. I'm just as sure there are others that can't be, OMM for example.

I think Vox and Naggy were/are 32K HP dragons. There are newer MoBs with a million HP. I was level 46 on my first Vox raid and I still had some cured silk armor. Things have changed.

I'm assuming he's including Kunark in "old world". Yes, I know, not technically correct but a lot of people use "old world" to mean Classic through Velious.

In any event, the original Kunark dragons were all 32k and are soloable by various classes. Not sure if the hitpoint cap got increased for Velious or not. I say 'original' because I'm sure the Veeshan Peak v2.0 ones are all healthier than that.

I can almost solo Gore In Dreadlands as a 70 Necromancer. She isnt that hard. Only bad thing is that she slows. The Ae isnt bad. Send in pet and just heal. Toss a few dots in FD and continue healing. I go OOM to fast to kill her. I think any healer type class or hybrid can solo an old world dragon.

It is important to note that in order to solo old raid content, you need gear that can only be acquired in groups and raids.

So you have to spend years grouping and raiding in order to solo Trakanon. Very anticlimatic. If you are CoA geared with 1200 AAs and can't solo Trak, you are a loser.

To answer the original question...

No. No classes can solo a Dragon.

If you start Everquest now and solo your way to level 70 and 1200 AAs without raiding and getting raid gear, you will not be able to solo dragons.

I doubt very much a purely LDoN, DoN or MPG Trial geared player can solo a dragon. Even if they can, LDoN DoN and MPG trials all require groups (or multi boxing) and cannot be soloed either.

Since when have we changed the definition of "soloing a mob" to mean "Never getting any assistance from level 1 onward"? Smiley: dubious

I disagree with needing raid gear to solo kunark dragons. I have only one raid item a 130 mana mask from a air and I really dont think I would have any trouble soloing sev trak gore are tal.

Give me 5 corpses so I can army of dead and a virtue for me and my pet and I would estimate a dead dragon in about 3mins tops. Army of dead is about 10k damage swarm is about 4k toss in a 6k lifeburn and you a 2/3 dead dragon even before you add normal pet and any spell damage you maybe able to land. Gore and trak may drag fight out a little but they would drop eventualy.

Yes I have been thinking about hunting then but i dont ever seem to be able to find them up.

a 70 geared - or even half geared - in mpg and dodh stuff can solo a kunark dragon easily.

if you want to nitpick, you could level to 70/300 aas or so on FV, buy some of the 200hp dodh loot (some sub-1k now!) and solo a dragon, never having grouped.
