Choose one, please.

A) If you are dispelled, the first (top) 3 buffs you have loaded are the 3 that you will lose first, so it is imporant to buff yourself with junk buffs before loading the really good stuff, so you can keep it in the event of being dispelled. Keep an insta-clicky handy in case of said event, to restore junk buffs.

B) If you are dispelled, any and all buffs can be lost, as the dispell script is at random. "Loading with junk buffs first" is no longer valid, and you can either get lucky, or be unlucky. If insta-click buff was dispelled, you can reload using clicky, which might lower the percentage that a "good" buff will still be kept.

C) Both A+B, depending on mob.

Now that you have made your choice, please post your reasons, or actual links/text that can back you up.

Thanks, in advance.

I just happen to wear my fabled shrunken goblin skull earring all the time so i have junk buffs.

Some mobs liky Phinny will debuff you no matter what you have loaded so junk buffs don't matter too much. Other mobs go for your top slot so there is a good reason for junk buffs and some even go for your middle slots it's hard to say just which ones do what but most of it is completely random

It's not random. Nothing is random.

The way heard it was...

Mob casts a dispell. Dispell rolls against your top slot first, if it fails, that buff is safe for the moment and it goes to the second and so on down for as many Cancel Magics that are in the Spell. If the Spell wins the roll, your buff is dispelled. Check out the Cancel Magic line, some spells contain more cancels than others.

That's why you may get your 4th buff dispelled while leaving the first three alone. If KEI is in your 15th buff spot, chances are pretty good it wont be dispelled from one or two casts. If you keep getting hit with dispell, eventually you will lose all your buffs if you do not rebuff somehow.

It is not as if it goes down the entire buff list and randomly picks out a buff, it starts at the top and works its way down on every cast. What is random is whether a buff is dispelled or not. That is why if you have 5 or 6 junk buffs in front of your good ones, the good ones wont be dispelled at least after one cast.

There are many different types of dispells.

There are ones that check every buff tell they find one that fails resist and there are those without a resist check there are also dispels that only check a certain number of buffs before they stop.

The three main types are

One Spell trys to dispell the top buff then next buff until it removes one are all buffs resist. This type is the most common player type dispell and as you get higher level versions it adds extra casts of dispell to stack so that it repeats process more then once. I havent checked on them in awhile but if remeber right the highest level cleric dispell is in fact four casts of basic dispel magic.

Two Unresistable dispell kills the top buff you have everytime many NPC have this dispell. Again NPC can have versions that are multi casts of this all wrapped up into one spell. Not sure but I think Enchanters may have dispells that work like this.

Three These work like type one dispells but only check a certain number of buffs and dont try to dispell deeper until they have removed one buff thus moveing a lower buff up into its dispel range this is a NPC only dispell.

Those are the basic types there are probaly a few other types that are only used by certain mobs.

Ain't that the truth.

The one I really love are the mobs that proc the mana dot, that ALWAYS overwrites crack. Doesn't matter which buff it is, it hits crack every time.

I always though wizzys(why wiz cause they need more utility and it fits) should get a buff that help protect against dispelling
