Platinum: Rich or Poor?Follow

Been farming waay to much. Now I dont know what to do with the money...oh well, I had some fun while making all that plat

i have 4 full accounts all geared well with recomened for lvl 60-65 gear so it lvls as i lvl, that costs me about 4 million plat. well some of that plat went to tradskills 250 in a few of them.

now i'm down to 3000 plat total, i can bearly aford spells. i have to go farm all over again. i use to farm spiderling silk but with new expansion it drops way to much so instead of 10-15 plat each it's 3-5 plat and not really beiing bought much.

i've recently been told about FV server. and wow 90% of item tradeable. i think if iwas on that server i'd spend 5 million plat just on one character.

i think it would be cool to make a new roleplaying server. the oppisite rules for loot. make it all nodrop let you sell it to npcs but the npcs destroy it. a server that doesn't alow any trading at all, except maybe tradskill items only completed items, so no farming. this would make everyone have to do quests for armor, no twinking, could be more challanging.

i made a new drakk put 70 k gear on him 70% of it will lvl with him to lvl 65 he's lvling well 22 already in 3 sessions.

but now i also made a drakk druid who i plan to lvl solo, with no plat nor equipment from anyone. nor buffs from anyone and stay only in new zones with the expansion.

6yr ago i played eq for 2 weeks hated it died so many times had 50 plat to name lvl 9 pally i left to go back to asheron's call for 3 yrs, i tried again for a month 4yrs ago with a freind i liked it abit made it to 15th lvl but still only 100 plat i couldn't make anymoney newbee zones sucked and i had crap gear so i quite again, then 3 yrs ago icame back bought a 2nd account clean no characters but bought 4million plat for like $900.00 i made every class on the 2 accounts and geared them.

i played the cleric and warrior combo the ongest lvled to 41 got temp spell and loved the game since but still i leave to try other games and always come back now all my characters are lvl 22-51, just starting the aa points. i have to say the buying of plat helped me fall in love with thi game.

but i do feel i cheated myself. i tried combine server. made it to 9th and gave up i wanted money to badly.

but i am determined to see the game as the vets did. not really the before expansions but the hunting and questing and farming. and get the sence of acomplishment as they did for myself. just 3 days ago i mad lvl 51 and 2 days ago i got my 1st aa and yesterday i got the run aa to 3 , that feeling is good.

to my message to others is before buying plat try the game. get a guild and have fun, play the game the right way before killing it for your self.

I am fairly well off :) because I dig farming rare and/or no drop stuff and auctioning off loot rights in my down time. Reading this thread makes me want to play the baz though for fun lol.

having the great gear vs good gear vs cheap gear. i think really only helps make a differance in soloing. it helps with hp and mana in groups and the Ac. but no amount of the best equipment makes the player play well. it take practise, advice, and learning the roles of others. this is why i have every class made and switch around a lot.

i have just receintly learned enchater and wizards and druids, area of effect and kiting, charming mezing. all in lvl 20's now i powerlvled them to 20 and had no idea what their spels did. now i do and wow they're fun classes to play. i have to cast low lvl spells to get skill up about 1000 times.

with my lvl 51 cleric i powerlvled most the way to 40 and solo'ed a lot. it wasn't unril i got into a group at lvl 51 that i learned about pacifiing. i wish i knew about that a long time ago i could have been a lot better cleric.

so my suggestion is not to think your good because you have all the gear but your good because you know how to play your character and you know about the other classes. it's nice having others in a group let you know what spells would help the group more, just incase they also power lvl'ed or bought their account that happens a lot in eq too.

my newest sugegstion to players is read your spells on allakazam, learn your class on eqcasters. and enjoy the expierance . don't rush through your lvls. and see as many zones as possible, grouping is also best, quest for armor.

most who are rich in game bought thier money, and rush through the game to get to high lvl. and they shouldn't they miss to much like i did. others back in the 2001-2003 duped plat and items cheated to get rich. not many farmed and did things the right way to get 100k or more plat

I was quite rich for a while just off what I camped or farmed that bazaar peeps would buy. Then I got TSS and bought all my 71-75 spells on my 3 accounts and spells for one guildie. I'm just now climbing out of the under 100k area on all 3 accounts. Just because you don't know what is profitable doesn't mean everyone is a plat buying power leveling guy with 8 accounts all under level 60. Bragging about buying accounts, powerleveling yourself and not knowing what your own spells do, and buying mass amounts of plat makes you come off as someone that knows very little about this game. I will concede that you have likely seen more of the low level zones and pre-pop zones than I have, but I've seen MPG and RSS and other 70+ zones where things quad 2k hits. I don't know what it is, but that post and the previous one about spending some 900$ on plat just gets me. If you'd rather spend money on game money that's fine, I've had someone repeatedly explain the rational to me "I want to spend my time xping, questing, cybering etc, not farming"... I guess what I'm saying is not everyone plays this game like you do, or we wouldn't need new expansions cause we'd all be under lvl 60 and it irritates me that you assume we cheat because we can go out and kill stuff that drops things that you spend your hard bought plat on to stick on your twink of the day.

i don't have anyone elses account except my dads. added on to my 7. i have 4 accounts with 1 lvl 1 character on each just so i can have my own guild. the other 3 are mine. i power lvl with my own characters for the most part using my cleric. but i used my dads enc to help lvl my cleric and warrior.

if i come across as saying everyone or most buy . i'm sorry i did not mean it like that, just alot of gamer do if they didn't then why are there still so many web sites selling plat still. 3yrs ago i bought 2 accounts but sold them back after 3 months i didn't like using them as they were not my creation.

and yes i'm sure ige has 50-100 people farming equipment to sell and then sell the plat. so ya i guess everybody farms.

if i seemed to put others down for doing what ever they do i also don't mean that. i'm just trying to say what i did wrong. and let others know, so maby they can have a better gaming exp.

i never use any of my dad's charcacters and enc monk and cleric, to play with others as they are over 50 and i don't feel it's right to use them not knowing the spells, technics, etc. of each of them. thats why i use my own and i am learning all of them. my cleric is now 51 and i have now learned how to play the cleric. with grouping latly not boxing others have helped me.

my own enchanter is only lvl 23 i want to get it up in lvl because my dad's enc seems fun but i don't know how to group with it, so until i lean how to play the enc from lvl 23 to lvl 50 i don't use his enc in groups just buffs only.

i know poeple hate to play with others who buy accounts i don't like it eigther. your right they don't know how to play, and with people like me who power lvl without learing the class can get others killed. i'm not saying all powerlvlers.

these forums are they for communicating about the game to help eachother out. or just to cause bitterness between us?

i enjoy this game, and i enjoy helping others out the most. just like so many help me out. for those who don't lke playing with others then maby try morrowind, it's a great game.

The most Iv'e ever had was 7000000000..........................copper :P Which is 7million plat. Now i have around 3million, but if i sold all my rares, such as Staff of Forbidden Rites, i could have about 2million more. It's fun having a ton of money but it can become sucked dry with tradeskills, which I am a master in all of them EXCEPT Tinkering. Dammit! Why didn't i pick a gnome??

I six box so I always have atleast a million pp. If its time to upgrade gear, I drop down to zero really quick. :(
