I started playing around with this last night. So far I only have some generic sound set to go off when Gift of Mana goes off. I was thinking mabey some Steven Hawkings sounding alerts might be cool.

What triggers do you have setup and where is a good place to download small sound files?

I have one setup for "you feel yourself appearing" and eventually will set one up to alert me when mobs are casting Gate. I don't know the exact text I need yet though for that one.

as a buffing class, i thought it would be cool to set it up for "tells"

so i made the trigger "tells you", the drawback is, everytime i goto a npc merchant, bank ect, it triggers as well :-(

every bit of vendor trash you hand the merchant trigers it :-(

so what i am doing, is deleting it after every raid so it is only firing when on raids.

i am going to set one up for when DI fires on a raid as well, in case i miss the message in battle spam.

that was an awesome idea about the "apearing" going to set that up as soon as i log on next time!

I have one that triggers an audio tag when our guild's bard Highsuns a giant flaming dude at 20%. That way I know he'll be training us later Smiley: lol

I've been pretty busy lately so I haven't had a chance to check into this, but alot of older all-text online RPGs had this audio trigger thing set-up a long time ago. There used to be whole sites with tons of fantasy based wavs. Might want to check out some of the fan sites for those types of games and see what they have available.

A quick google search got me this site. There's gotta be a million sites out there like this for MUDs.

'you feel yourself appearing' is a great idea, thanks!

I've got one for my wife's toon since I seem to always miss her tells.

I love these audio triggers, great for 2 boxing when you can't keep an eye on both monitors. Set for fizzled spells on cleric, I hate when I think my heal is casting but it fizzled. Also nice to tell when important spells land or are resisted that are otherwise hard to see with all the text flying by.

Possibly the best idea from SOE since the bazaar.

I started looking around and found some cool Homer Simpson and South Park wav files. Now I have Eric Cartman yelling "No! Oh god no!" when my invis is about to drop. This audio trigger thing freaking great. The possibilitys are endless.

I know that a lot of people would never use the triggers like this but.....If your guild is just learning to raid or has a hard time staying together or just paying attention in general. The raid leader could have the guild down load a set of audio files for the trigger string. You would have the triggers fire off from a different channel so they would not go off other than raid time. Phrases like "Move up"(taken from your favorite war movie...hehehe) after med breaking so the afkers know to get back to key board.Others would be"Watch pet push".."Kill pets"...just simple stuff like that. Sometimes you just dont see these commands during a raid and they might be helpful. I'm sure you guys could come up with better ideas...but just a thought.

I just found this on the Necrotalk boards. It's a text to speech website that lets you download the wav file. You also get to choose the type of voice.

played around with it a bit last night. now EQ tells me e.g.
- mob summons
- resisted
- root broken
- mob gating
- dispelled

escpecially useful in a group, when leader has spell casting awareness I guess.

thanks again Smiley: smile

Started using the audio triggers yesterday, and it's just awesome...

Set triggers for:
- fizzle
- resists
- mezzed (important!)
- some spell fading ("has worn off", "has left")
- an alarm sound for "You gained group experience!" (nice to know when the mob is dead)

I'm just thankful I don't have to hear all these godawful sounds like I do with voice commands.

I hate voice commands.

I'm using mine to tell me when my pet's buffs have worn off (haste), invis dropping, spell fizzles, stuff like that. I would add more if I could find a text-to-speech wav mak-
