2 Boxing problems since 10/27 patchFollow

#1 Oct 28 2005 at 3:12 AM Rating: Decent
I 2 box a vendor account so I can play and sell at same time. Since the patch, I have solved the mouse problem, the screen resolution problem, but not the vendor account problem. Everytime I alt-enter from vendor account to play account, my vendor stops selling in the bazaar. I have tried having both accounts on the same old UI, and both on new UI. Nothing works..Anyone have similar problems and have fixed them, could you please point me in the right direction?

If you are using EQWindows this may be what is causing your problem, and you no longer need EQwindows. Just log on to the two accounts as normal and you will not have this problem.

If you are NOT using EQWindows then I would suggest making sure you have the newest DirectX http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results.aspx?productID=&freetext=directx&DisplayLang=en!

I only get the vendor problem when I alt+enter, and even then it resets itself in a second and turns my trader back on.

Did you create a second EQ directory to run the second account from?

Latest drivers? Including DirectX 9.0c?

EQ native windowed mode seems to be limiting precision to 800X600 as well. Do you have the trader on this video mode?

Eqwindows still worked better then eq does now. For some reason my entire windows is screwed up since that patch. When I click a button on my internet browser such as toolds, file, etc it does not show the drop down box.

I would just assume they hadn't messed with it. Don't fix something that isn't broke, although now its broke and they need to fix it.

I am having similar problems with transfering items and rezzing tween accounts, also the afore mentioned vendor problem but I dont vendor a lot and tend to want to play both accounts so that is the least of my problems.

Ya and I havent tried every fix I can think of yet either I prefer to just work around it and play as best I can atm will prolly give it another go when I am not having to work 11hours a day. 4 on 3 off so, will probably fart with it more on Tuesday.

Hrm.

No issues really changed. Still running me on one computer, Aumnyder and Cachet on another computer. Did some DoDH spell missions as only healer/slower/CC so I can assure you alt-tab still working, both sessions still responsive.

Still have to set everything off, and clip plane to zero in the some DoDH zones.. but that is not new (well Aum zero, Cachet 35ish.. I have to see things to mez them).

Most nights I am leaving Aumnyder in the Bazaar in Trader while I play a Mage in Cachet's "session".. so no issue there either.

Main change is now I can still use the mouse on the other session while one is zoning (just like they promised). No other impact to me 2 boxing.

Windows XP, already had the Application Compatiblity Toolkit installed, already running windowed.

I hesitate to answer this because I do not 2-box and I am by no means a computer wiz but......

Several people in my guild were having similar problems and as it turns out none of them had "upgraded" to the Service Pack 2 for XP. Once they did that the problems went away. Just a suggestion, hope it works for you.
