I do not think making them all on same timer helps, rather it hurts. Now people will sit around nek forest after doing a fairy mission go afk 20-25 mins and repeat. At least before people actually played a couple of other missions after doing a fiary mission.
People were already doing this with the orc and/or fairy mission. It wouldn't be a bad idea to put all the missions in the same or close zones on the same timer. Players would have to travel to another mission.

A better fix would be to have all mssion on seperate timer, but make it 12 hours. Then you would see people doing all the MM even the hard ones and not the same old grind. I can't even get a group to try WW or Griffon mission nowadays.
I don't think a 12 hour timer would help. Let's say you log on and decide to do a MM with some guildies. You get a group together and try to get the mission. It's locked because someone in the group did it 3 hours ago. So you all run to a different mission and find out someone else in the group did it 10 hours ago. You finally run around and by the time you actually find a mission you can do you have to log off for work or go to bed. When you do this you're limiting who you can group with. Which goes against the point of these missions in the first place.

I think SOE made the right move on this patch.

If you need a reason to see why MMs needed to be nerfed.

This is why!'

This player hurt themselves more than helped by doing MMs.

you sure he got to 70 doing MMs or just chose a quick leveling path instead of camps that drop loot? His primary melee skills are all maxed and secondary melle skills near max so he must be a good amount of melee as a warrior.
It is definetly not the best gear, sucks being poor.

A few posts down the OP states it was MMs.

I leveled normally till 20 then started MMs...that way i wasnt totally behind in melee skills...its possible he did the same

Also, now, alot of my friends do a MM on one toon, log on another, MM, log on another, MM, log back on main, MM, rinse repeat

Yep just switching toons back and forth now rather than sitting around. Works good for AAs - risk vs reward is nicer than RSS or Creator mission.

- Zigan Ribshard in the Plane of Knowledge has a few friends he’d like you to meet. Speak with him for more information regarding seasonal festivities.

Anyone found him? What does he say? I presume he's a task giver, some kind of Halloween quest?

Jesus. I guess I should have got this expansion before the nerf, if they did nerf it. It would have been nice to get caught up a bit on AA's at least. Oh well.

I said it before, and I'll repeat it here: the halloween scavenger hunt is just another "goodie" for high lvls only... SOE should really satisfy ALL customers... Smiley: glare

According to the link above, the scavenger hunt is scaled to fit your group level.

What level are you?

Have you tried the quest yet?

What part were you unable to do?

So...did SOE nerf the MM experience received or not? I see no "offical" mention of it.

I don't do MMs because they offer no challenge or loot for me but I know ppl who do them. They told me that all MMs are now on the same lockout timer so u can't do one of 10 min ones and then do another and another and get 5aa/hr. Base xp for doing one is the same, but total xp will be less. I would definetly call this a nerf.

If you consider that you normally get some conbination of these factors when you do anything:

exp + loot + skills + learning your character's abilities

Then I think the mm's are about right since they give:

good exp + no loot (for practical purposes) + no skills + no learning of character

Without good xp or loot what would be the point of doing any of the missions more than once? I have only done the Nagafen one, but we did it three times. It was not all that much fun and little more than a distraction from playing EQ. I can't imagine doing it again (or any MM's for that matter) without the decent xp reward.

One reason to farm them is because a lot people who play EQ do not like challenges.

They dislike it even more when these same things that are unchallenging and give way too much xp gets nerfed.

I could only imagine the crying when MMs were down yesterdy. My guess is that it would sound something like this. "OH noes I have to do normal groups now? What's taunt the noob tanks at lv 70 with no skills will say. Might as well log out now since I cant get super fast xp every 10 minutes for no risk."

In addition to exp + loot + skills + learning your character's abilities there is also risk when ppl decide what they want to do.

yup it wast just plain silly. Those cry babies would not shut up the whole day. So there seems that there are some people incapable of getting XP the old fashioned way. Hey atleast they left the Loot alone. The loot was half decent for a casual player for sure.
