I've been playing my berzerker quite a bit lately. I've been helping a friend level up. I'm debating on making him my main but i want some opinions from you folks first. He's gimp geared and kicking butt. Or should i stick with my monk?

I think Zerkers are a cool class and have had a bad reputation much in the same way Rangers did. Good DPS, and a bit of utility makes them useful in my book.

Play what you like, though.

My opinion as a level 70 Monk.

I stick with my Monk because of the freedom. In my opinion, Feign Death is the ultimate skill. Rogues can sneak, Druids and Wizards can gate, other classes can do other things to escape, scout, avoid dying and so forth but Feign Death does it better. With the Run 8 AA, it gets even better.

DPS is another story...

Yup i came to that very same conclusion though the zerker is fun you jsut can't trade FD for anything. Working on rapid feign too so that even better.

i'm a monk of lvl 53 and i wouldnt trade a useful spell or anything for my ability to frign. Since i gained the ability to feign death, i have died only once (and that was a fluke!!) monk's dps is amazing and their 50+ stuff rawks!

FD is great and all...but in my opinion it only makes you good at one thing, and thats pulling. Not dying is cool and all, but you can get a 96% rez, so you MIGHT loose a half of a percent of exp and a little downtime. You shouldn't be dying in groups anyway. What is a monks advantage other than FD, nothing, thats all you get. Your not even close to the best DPS in the game. You get no pet. No spells, buffs, your disc's are worthless haha other than FD. im sorry but i can see no reason why someone would go through the list of possable classes and be like "hmmm...im gonna start a monk"

What character do you play lukistke? I don't like caster class too much and being a warrior is fun and all to but there is something special about being on the front line. I still like my zerker too but i love pulling more than i like throwing axes.

And yet so many do... There must be something there. Out of all the DPS classes, it seems to me the Monk has the greatest survivability, and the best solo ability. My friends 53 Monk does things my 59 Rogue wouldn't even attempt. They're not for everyone, but lots of folks like them. They'd be even more popular if Sony would put them back on top of the DPS heap, which is where Sony claimed they wanted them six years ago. If they did, my Rogue, as well as Zerks and Rangers probably, would be out of work.

/nod (although rogues are bad **** too! so don't discount them it's fun to crit stab!)

My monk is old i made him in 2000 when they were really good and when they were just a tad bit under rogues in DPS but only because of back stab were rogues on top. And some how the while still fun to play zerker comes along and can out damage both classes and hold agro better than a warrior and does this with only a 2 hander. I sorta had a fallout with my monk for a moment becasue i was discouraged about the DPS aspect of my monk. He still kicks hiney but there is more of a technical aspect to playing monks than most any other class in the whole game. Rouges and monks need to unite and slaugher those crazy zerkers! hehe i'm pretty much out of the wanting to play the zerker mode now YAY!
