Western Waste Lands-Key Sol Ro TowerFollow

#1 Oct 24 2005 at 11:32 AM Rating: Decent
Okay. Made a quick run with friend to have them show me where to camp for mob who spawns every two hours, marked map. Sorry if spelling of Tower is wrong.

A couple of things. How hard is mob, Ranger friend who took me said he soloed it and just snared, rooted and killed it since doesnt summon and if that way not many adds over there.

Is there anyway to get over there besides the Grotto? Can a druid port me to WWL? The last leg of grotto after surfacing from left door in that water area, I seemed to aggro mobs. Should I just make a run for it to WWL zone in?

The Efreeti himself is a pushover if you can kite. Doesn't cast, doesn't summon. Avoid getting smacked by the rest of the Western Wastes fauna and you're golden.

You have to go through the Grotto to get there but a wizard or druid can succor you from the CS zone-in to the safepoint which is convienently at the WW zoneline. I personally can use my bard's DA song and make the run without any problem but it can be a good way to do a corpse summon if you're not familiar with the route.

Easiest white con solo kite of my life. Only had Darkness resisted once in many many casts, everything stuck, single course of DoTs was enough.

In my experience, he spawns in an hour on the button. The day after we figured this quest, I hunted him all day on the second computer from here at work. I would kill him, gate back to Skyshrine (bound at the bank for this), hand heart to an alt (dropable on FV), run/Levant back and FD in range of the spawn site. Go back to work until the next hour. Using my alts (and shared bank slots) I gathered 10 hearts that day to key Giftees that night. So.. unless they changed the time, it's an hour exactly.

Thanks and thought would do a short kite along cliff. Did not see any mobs along there. Can always root him and just bow him to death. When shown where, only one mob came by and was green.

I can do the run but apparently my innate cameo either drooped or those dumb bear things in grotto can see invis.

Take he pops in Crystal and I just sit and wait.

Seahorses in the water right before the tunnel see invis. At least, that's where I always started getting pummeled. My usual method was to run/swim invis as far as possible until I started getting hit and then click DA to finish the run.

How to get Sol Ro keyed.

1. Find uber bard.
2. Force him to kill efreeti (trade for Virtue or 10pp if needed)
3. Go back to PoT and get keyed.
.
.
.
4. Go to Sol Ro! PROFIT!

I had a 62 druid kite him for me. While I made sure he didn't get any adds on my chanter.

Was any easy fight.

Should be rather easy, my ranger did it at 59 with eq and am1 .. took awhile, but not very scary for a red con solo. (do have almost max ally CoV faction on him)

Well, going to do it tonight. Not worried about him, I just aggroed the whole world after swimming up and jumping out of water to go on to WW zone line.

Now, who in POT do I see and turn this into go? Hehe, yep, this is a profit mission. Had heard some good drops in Sol Ro.

There's a drake by the PoFire zone in PoT. Hail around and you'll find him.

We (the guild and I) seem to average one ornate drop per visit of an hour or two in the zone with pretty constant pulls of 'yard trash'. One or two bum nights and a couple exceptional nights of 3+ ornate drops plus spells. I don't know if you'll get fantastically wealthy but I find it a fun challenge for our lvl 55-65 groups with decent material and xp rewards.

Thanks for all the help, finally found the whole quest. Have been in POF once and I was piggybacked at the time and lead to the castle. That is as close as have ever gone.

Didn't know the Banished wandered and will see by tracking if wandering or near his crystal home.

Conflicting times for him to repop. Some say two hours, some two hours 10 mins., and others 1 hr. Will camp in front of crystal.

Have no idea what he will con, taking my 67 Ranger.

Just be thankful I didn't train your worthless chanter butt. J/K

But as Mental pointed out it's an easy fight. The first time I did it with my dru I was only lvl 60. Just make sure your clear of the dragons when you start and watch for the rare add. Tons of room to kite.

Running through SG is quite easy for a ranger.
1. Invis.
2. Jump in the water and go into the tunnel that's on in front of you on the left. (yes, you will aggro the fish, just swim to the end and go up)
3. You will come up in a pool, just jump over the edge. You will fall down a waterfall. Very important!!! Click Innate camo as you fall and get out of the water on the land this is to your left.
4. Once on dry land, nothing sees invis. Just follow the tunnel on your left and it will lead you to the WW zone in.

Yes, it's kinda scary the first time, but once you do it, it's faster then being succor'd and you will know how to do it so you won't have to wait for a druid.

Also, if you're working on your 1.5, there is a fish at the bottom of the water fall you jump off of that is one of the mobs. If you're up to that point, you can "catch" him.

Efreeti soloed after a few false starts by a gimp 58 necro. I chose a north-south route along the top of the northwest corner of the zone (his spawn/roaming area).

Thanks for the great replies. The directions to get through grotto were perfect. What was not told to me by other players is using innnate cameo as falling down waterfall and went there twice last night and got through easily and very fast.

K, going to write down route you used. He popped both times for me fairly fast and I checked area around me,and was by his crystals. Each time along comes a dark blue wyren and that was that and was doing fine with the Banished just didnt need the adds. Believe one came up from below the cliff where fighting. Oh well, it will get done soon.

Whupped its *** as a 70 ranger.

Ported to Cobalt, (killed named drake for the hell of it)

Swam to SG,

Succored through SG with a Dr00ds help, ran to ice sculpture

thang (In western wastes)where he spawns. A few wyvern hunters were up so aced

those. Efreet hit really slow maxed 560 on me I just meleed for

for a bit weaponshielded as 50% life (mine), then after

ws dropped, I bow kited. Easy kill.
