My little gnome mage is thinking of starting jewelcraft (well, she's been thinking about it for nearly 3 years now, but she's going to start it soon). Of course she'll start with the freebie quest in Abysmal Sea, but I have a question for the time afterwards.
What do you do with all your jewelcrafted stuff?
Most of the lower skill stuff doesn't have stats, so I don't think that anyone in Bazaar is going to buy it... Are you just selling it back to NPC merchants? Do you keep a pile in bank? Do you wear it for special events?
Any answer is welcome...

Dump it back on the vendor, also if you use enchanted metal you will not lose nearly as much PP training it.

You will probably not find any buyers (Player Characters that is) until you get your craft about 180-200 range. 99% of the stuff you will craft will be junk until you get up to using platinum/velium bars. Also, there will be stuff for sale in the bazaar that has better stats and will sell for less then what it will cost you to make the stuff.
100% of the stuff you craft will be junk if you aren't using "enchanted" bars of any sort.
Just buff up your charisma and sell whatever you make back to the vendor. Jewelcrafting is the most expensive tradeskill (at least up to 250).
Sorry to burst your bubble. Just make sure you have about 50k plat in your bank to get from 1-200 or so.

To get to around 200 you really only need around 5kpp (and if you are successful a lot even less). Again, these things weren't meant to be sold to anyone but the vendor but the path I chose was the following:
(1) Lacquered Pearl (Pearl and Jar of Lacquer) Triv 110 (4.9pp ea)
(2) Gold Lapis Lazuli Earring (Bar of Gold and Lapis Lazuli) Triv 148 (10.1pp ea)
(3) Golden Jaded Bracelet (Bar of Gold and Jade) Triv 178 (13.7pp ea)
(4) Gold Opal Amulet (Bar of Gold and Opal) Triv 191 (28.9pp ea)
None of the gold was enchanted.

Sell most back to NPCs. If you use enchanted metal you get more money back. You can also check tribute values for some of the stat jewelry.
Most of the non-ac stuff is only useful for boosting stats for tradeskills in some slots.
I have sold the odd ring and choker from time to time.
My chanter is close to 200 in JC and I did NOT spend 50K skilling up. Skillups past 190 come VERY SLOW too...

I will second the idea of checking tribute values. You may find it worth it to use them that way.

50K was a poor guess on my part. The skillups do come very slow after 180 ish.
Bbot first off being as you are not an Enchanter why are you doing Jewelcraft being a mage? Nothing wrong with it mind you but you will be behind the curve if you are using it to make plat and most likely never recoupe your investment. Enchanters will alway be able to under cut you just by the AA ability to cut failures by 50%

Had an enchanter who didn't survive the server mergers, so my mage got all the stuff in his bank (and I haven't got a slot left for a new chanter on that server). I'm not yet planning to make plat with it, it's just a role playing thingie... she's a girl, and she likes sparkling things
If you make the right things, merchants will buy the items back for a few gp less than the components cost to buy them all the way up to 200. Of course on failures you wont get anything back, but if make items with trivials close to your skill and use a geerlok you wont lose that much. I made it to 200 this way for a pittance sitting at a merchant for a couple hours. I'm not sure how much, but a few k tops. If you spent 50k to get to 200 you spent waaaay too much.

Alot of your craftings will tribute far better than resell to merchants...of course reselling does recoup some of the cost.
Over the last 15 months, we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.

There are a few that trivial before these that are ok sellers, but these three items are the only ones I have been able to sell to others often enough to make it worth making them. Pretty much everything else I sold right back to the merchants while skilling up.
