My chanter spent her mid 50's soloing Dulak with her LFG up pretty much the whole time unanswered =\ (was pre-server merge)
I just want to make some comments on the whole LFG thing. Some argue that they're LFG for hours and don't get a group. Others argue that you can always get a group if you're active about it.
Here's my experiences:
Stay active if you want a group. Get to know other players who are good and enjoyable to play with. Put them on your friends list and always check to see what they're doing. If you're busy send a tell just saying hi. Keep those relationships going. Invite them to your groups if you have a opening. They'll do the same when they're in a group.
Ask around in a zone you want to group in. Do an /ooc for your class or any group spots available. If you don't get an invite you can try a different zone you want to fight in. If you still don't get an opening go to a zone you can solo in. Do a /who and look for others. Sometimes there will be 4 people in the zone all soloing. Send a tell asking politely if they would like to group. Only send one tell don't keep pestering them if they don't answer. Most likely they're too busy at the moment to respond or afk medding. If they tell you "no" it's no big deal. Send a tell wishing them good luck and you'll be there if they want. It's okay to send random tells as long as it's one message and you aren't bothering them. It's not okay to send random group invites. Only send group invites after they let you know they would like to group.
If you get a random tell asking if you would like to group and you don't want to, be polite about it. Tell them your busy or doing something else or you'd rather solo. Tell them thanks for asking and wish them luck. Being polite on both sides is important. If you're nice about it people will ask again when you do want to group. They'll remember and respect you.
Remember one thing, you will go lfg. Sometimes you'll be lfg for long periods of time or only a few minutes. Every class goes lfg for long periods of time. Doesn't matter if you're a cleric or a chanter or a warrior. There are times when there are a lot of clerics available or a lot of tanks available. People who say "Yeah but you're one of those classes". I've had days where I get 5 invites and others where I don't get any the whole time I'm on. It happens deal with it. You can do quests, tradeskills, or even switch to an alt.
Join or start a guild. Guild groups are the best. A set of people with the same outlook and goals that you have. You work better as a team in a guild than pickup groups. You know how each other play and have a big variety of places to go and things to do as a guild. You can put raids together and fight encounters that are impossible with a group. Just remember the number one killer of a guild is drama. Be fair and don't fight with guildies. If you have a problem try to solve it between the two of you. If you need to get an officer involved but keep it out of the rest of the guild.
Between guilds, friends, and LFG there should be plenty of opperunities. It's a big game with lots of people. Sure sometimes there's conflicts but that's impossible when you have a large number of people. Just remember to have fun
and let others have fun. It is a game.
