Is there a way to cure blindness besides waiting it out?

Blindness is a disease. Consult your nearby cleric.

Yes, a spell called Cure Blindness that Shamans get at level 7 and Clerics get at level 3.

A Nightmare hide has a clicky cure blindness ... of course if you are the one blinded you won't be able to activate it. So if you have access to several, pass them out in your group and cure each other.

It is tricky but doable. If you KNOW you will be fighting mobs that blind then...

If you are the non-curer have a hotbutton set:

/gsay I am blinded!

You need only hit the # of the button. (Although since the new hotbutton panels have been introduced, I am not sure.) You do not need to see, to send this message to your group.

If you are the curer:

Have Cure Blindness memmed, say gem #1.

Have a Hotbotton set to:

/cast 1

If you get blinded, hit F1 to target yourself, and then hit Hotbutton to cure yourself or just 'blind' type: /cast 1

Funny that this topic should show up now. I was playing my BL over the weekend with a friend's Shaman. We were mostly fighting Lightcrawlers in DSP, which have an annoying habit of blinding me with Lightcrawler Flash (at least, that is what it says has worn off when it goes away).

The problem is, my friend was keeping his Cure Blindness spell memorized specifically to unblind me, but we finally determined that it was not working. It sometimes seemed to work, but after some testing, we finally decided that those times were just coincidences due to the blindness wearing off on its own at varying times.

The Cure Blindness spell description says it will remove some blindness effects. Is it normal for it NOT to work for this specific blindess (from Lightcrawlers), or is this a bug?

Dunno. I don't think I've ever seen anyone actually bother with the spell. Blindness usually only lasts for a short amount of time, so it's usually better to just wait for it to fade.

My experience has been similar. The duration of blind is so short, that you never know if the spell actually cured you, or it just wore off on its own. The person curing you should see a message saying something like "Your target has been cured" if it worked, and nothing if it didn't work.

Again though. Unless you're maybe raiding something with a serious blind effect that must be cured, I've just never seen any real urgency. Probably not worth wasting a spell slot over...

Blindness seems to be more on newbish mobs. Gasp I shouldn't say that, now the next expansion will have level 50+ mobs with 1000ddprocs, blindness, and random chance to cause tank to go Linkdead!

It is a pain though. I think when your blind you should be able to see your text bar at least. I mean your blind, not deaf! And the text bar is basically your ears in everquest.

Why is it when I'm blinded, it seems to last awhile but when I cast FoL on a mob it wears off right away? One of those things to make you go ... Hmmmmm?

<waves hand> Over here egnar.

My cleric was pl some guild alts and kept cure blind memmed. It did seem to work on light crawlers spell most of the time.
But in reality I hardly ever have it memmed on courtin. One time at a raid perhaps.

Yes Virginia hot key work even when blinded.

If you ever go on a Black Reaver hunt in CoM you'll get blinded a lot.

The hot key method is the way to go for telling the healers but you can also cast by using Alt+<number> to cast the spell in that numbers spell gem. No reason to waste a hotkey on it.

If you are the healer and get blinded the F1 key will target yourself.

And yes, I did think something broke the first time it happened.

And F2-F6 will target your group.

Fought Black Reavers and Lord Ghiosk in CoM with a bard and a pally and me a shaman. Bard died, and me and pally was almost constantly getting blinded. Knewing she were on F3 I still could heal her and cure blindness even if I couldn't see a thing.

But careful with pet classes, you might ending up healing their pet instead... (pushing F-button twice)
