Only really interested in earthcaller and I don't think I will get too enthusiastic about it. The main deturrent is the VS cycle cause 24 hour return and hope someone else doesn't KS remains is not something I have any interest in what so ever. I usually try to help guidlies with their RAID stuff though so I may get lucky when helping one of the ohter ranger's in my guild but ZI am not actively pursuing due to VS component.

Of course the alterative is a few more level cap increases and VS might not be the hurdle it used to. I don't mind imposing on a few friends neearly as much as I mind orchestrating a RAID force to pull off VS part of Epic 1.

Just finished up my epic 1.0 for my paladin. My monk has 1.0. currently getting my druid up to 51 so he can obtain his 1.0. Ranger after that. Then magician. Then enchanter. ETC... hehe... If anyone is on The Nameless server and needs any help with theirs let me know. Just look for me.

Finished my enchanters 1.0 a while back. Sometime in his 50's I started two-boxing and rolled a cleric and played it when I was bored. Now my enchanter is level 69 and has his 1.5, so I figured it was time to start leveling my cleric. So now he's level 53 and 1/2 way through his 1.0.

Still need chardok, Ixiblat, Ragefire (human and dragon, and the shards to spawn him obviousl), and I'm done. 2 toons with 1.0's and soon to be 1.5's.

I am a glutton for 1.0s...

Two mobs to go on Druid 1.0 (take a guess which ones).

Need pipe from Chardok and all of the Celestial Fists for the Monk 1.0

Just starting Enchanter 1.0 and SMR is proving to be very elusive. I have leveled 80% from 51 to 52 just camping arch magus/ph and nearby spawns. That's 1-3 mobs folks. I have gotten his pants around 20 times...think he is telling me somthing...

Cleric has not started yet but does have a few of the drops from Skyfire.

Got druid 1.0 done, and a few of the forages / turn ins complete for 1.5, but after reading about the force needed to knock out some of these targets, I'm not even going to press the issue for a long time.

Need a few pieces for Pally 1.0, but I really don't think I'm going to even try for it anymore - too much camping, and waiting, for a (INHO) sub-par 2 hander that I wouldn't even ever use. I already have Soulfire, rusting in my bank...sigh...

And if I had to guess, I would say I've been in on at least 15 epic battles, all of which were (eventually) successful. :-)

Nothing like helping out a friend after they have helped out you. :-)

My epic 1.0 is ALMOST complete.

I just need to take down Overking Bathezid, and Ragefire.

All of the other parts are complete.
#34 Oct 03 2005 at 12:01 PM Rating: Decent
Did my 1.0, only have some pieces parts to my 1.5 just because they were on the mobs on raids or groups (plasmas and brain pieces). When OoW came out, some people in my guild got very nasty about their epics and for a while hardly anyone showed up on epic raid night and it left a very bad taste in my mouth. I don't really care if I finish it or not.

I cheated. My main is a necro and she has her 1.0. I bought everything I could find from Bazaar (Najena sounded too complicated and the hell I was going to PoFear). I had awesome friends who helped me with fight in Lake Rathetear, the spiroc feather, and even MQed the robe from Sky. Grand Herbalist was a super pain - at least it only lasted a full day of killing every 20 minutes and didn't have anyone else fighting me for camp.

I figured this would be brought up at some point or another. I noticed the picture's oddity a while ago (unfortunately not before putting it up). I just haven't gotten around to changing it.

Rest assured it is only a particle effect.

Maybe this post will bump the avatar change up in my priority list.

I'm stuck in my 1.0 epics on 2 different toons, each at the first major kill cause I'm not high enough to solo these mobs. My 51 ranger's stuck at the point in EK with all the reavers and my 52 necro's stuck at the point with the Herbalist in Chardok. Seems I have to wait for level 70 with a bunch of AA's to finish up. :-(

1) Most people, even in THIS day & age of EQ, don't have their 1.0s by 51 & 52. If you've got some friends or some guildies all gettin' their epics & you feel left out, you're letting them take all the fun out of it for you. Just because some people are part of a tight group that help eachother & move on to their next project before socializing outside their inner circle, or some of your guildies get all the help while everyone else gets squat 'cause they don't whine & beg or kiss up enough (yeah... been there), or have 3 computers so they can box & solo whatever they want, doesn't mean YOU have to be like them & hurry & get YOUR epic abnormally early TOO. It's just silly to be pouting about not having your epic right after you ding 46.

2) Some epic quests are easier than others. I've known more than one beastlord wait 'til 65 (without a bunch of AAs) & solo their 1.0s, for the most part. But SOME epic quests have steps that will REQUIRE you to have help, whether you like it or not, whether you're 70 with 300+ AAs or not, etc. It doesn't matter how high & uber your ranger is, no matter how easy it would be for you to solo the reavers & corruptor, unless you can at least 2-box, you're not soloing that EK step. Once you do last turn-in to spawn corruptor, corruptor spawns, NOT BY YOU, & despawns in 10 seconds if not engaged. You can't get to it in 10 seconds from where you're at. That's why you'll need someone on the hill where corruptor spawns... otherwise, you can just start all over.

The game is about more than your level/gear/AAs/class abilities. Spend more time getting to know some people & less time worrying about your epics (at 51 & 52 lol), & soon you'll have the help you need. & socializing works to your advantage even more if you're offering to help others rather than begrudging others (who probably have no chance of getting their epics even with your help) for not having gotten you yours.

This coming from an avid soloer. >.<

WHY SOLO, someone asked? Because the good players that I prefer to group with are not always on at the same time as me, & I don't group with just anyone... you have to have skills to group with me. o.~

Also, Rogue has Ragebringer & Ranger has Swiftwind... not concerned with Earthcaller atm & rather sick & tired of that stingy Hand as well.

No offense intended! Glad I got to see it before you changed it. I needed a good laugh. & a screenshot of a messge board on Alla's has just been added to my "EQ Funnies" collection! Never thought I'd be takin' a screenshot out of the game. lol

=)

[quote-its a multiplayer online game, why would you solo

Beacuse when you have an average of 2 or 3 hours a night to play, And you sometimes can't even find an exp group in that amount of time, you are really left with no choice.

I love my Pally but I hated my 1.0, hehe I finally have it rusting in my bank , and after thinking back on what it took to get it ,(countless pots of coffee camping 7 day spawns only to have an update to the server to have me camping even longer and then have another raid snatch it right before my eyes before I could form mine hmmm ) thinking back 1.5 scares me and 2.0 only a fantasy, but EQ now thats GOOD TIMES and my guildies the best epic I could have.

I got my copper medal of war for my BL, then gave up on it. I had better weapons at that point and really didnt want to take a downgrade. Now, I've finished the pre-quest and am halfway through the helm part of 1.5
#43 Oct 04 2005 at 11:58 AM Rating: Decent
Finished my 1.0 on my Druid and on last 2 fights of my 1.5 which isn't going so well even with a guild. Have also started my 1.0 on my SK and have found camping Feerrot for the decayed armor has been a pain so far.
#44 Oct 04 2005 at 12:28 PM Rating: Decent
Warrior is weilding 1.5 as is my wife's Shaman. Most of guild has 1.5 but no Anguish flags yet for 2.0's. We're still working on Quarm so a little behind in progression but were getting there.

I didn't see an option for "No intention of ever going for it"

I started out trying for it with my paladin. Then I went on a Plane of Growth raid, pretty much destroyed my faction. That combined with the twenty-something Vox raids without ever seeing the book drop and the hours apon hours of attempting to repair my faction did me in eventually. Epics are teh debil.

I couldn't possibly guess at how many I helped get for others though.

Until my guild is big enough or I have the cash to hire people to kill the Girplan Guardian I am not even going to consider trying the others. I have had my epic 1.0 for a long LONG time now.
