So how do you progress to get the next spirit shrouds?

You simply get the shroud and then go gain XP in whatever way you prefer. It's just very very slow.

Estimates are over 1000 red con kills for the next shroud.

One of SOE's community people said it might be re-evaluated later but wouldn't promise anything.

How do you get any other shrounds other than gargoyle? I wanna do the exploration quest and everyone is saying to turn in to a rogue shroud but how do i do that?

Has anyone looked at progression when you play a low level should vs. a high level shroud? A level 20 shroud toon could kill 1000 red cons in a much shorter time than a level 70 shroud toon.

I think what they do is set a certain amount of xp per kill... level 1 might be 1 point, level 70 might be 70 points... and it takes a certain number of points to progress... I killed in echo as a level 30 kobold (aiming for kobold rogue and then the minotaurs) for... probably 4 hours, and got 5% on my shroud killing nothing but reds...

Be forewarned: going from 1% to 2% takes a LONG time... but once you hit 2%, things to fairly fast from there.

And I'm going to post here all that I can remember about the different tiers.
Humanoid:
Kobold Cleric
Kobold Rogue
Minotaur Brute (warrior)
Minotaur Berserker

Goblinoid:
Goblin Rogue
Orc Brute (warrior)
Goblin Cleric
Goblin Wizard
Orc Battle Rager (berserker)

Animal:
Basilisk Beast (berserker)
Scaled Wolf Beast (berserker)
Werewolf Beast (berserker)

Undead:
Skeleton Wizard
Zombie Fighter (warrior)
???
???

...I'll post the others when I remember them... or, rather, edit the post... sorry I can't remember more

Look for a different shroud NPC for the other shrouds. The one near the OT stone is only for the gargoyle special shroud.

There is one between Doggle's bank and the dwarven smiths and another near the Shadowhaven Emissary. Those two provide a list of shrouds to choose from, including the Goblin Rogue.

I have tested it extensively and you are correct. There is no added advantage to playing a higher lv shroud in terms of progressing.

The best thing to do is grab a Shroud that can solo in a current xp hotzone and just grind. They do not "level" so for example, I took a level 15 Shroud to Paludal and grinded 6% there. I took a level 50 Shroud to the Hole and di about 4%. It is, as mentioned, awfully slow though.

It's not horribly slow, took a level 5 goblin rogue to PC newbie side to try it. Granted I had level 40ish shaman buffs but got 1-4% in about 20 minutes.

Just one quick question... does anyone know if Sony is planning on letting us get eq for our shrouded selves? I mean, we have weapons, so why not add any armor and stuff? I'm tired of walking around and having to be a melee kobold cleric because any other healer my level can heal 2x as good as me =p

Tier 1 faerie is a chanter style toon.

In fact the only one i think is under powered is the cleric kobald.

at lvl 60: 1.5k 3 sec heal that uses 10% mana, no HoT, no CH, but you do get a DoT and a crappy Nuke.... what where they thinking??

That said i use them when my guildies are grouping and need a slower or cleric and i'm about 15% evolved in both after i would say 5 hours playing each in full groups.

I like the idea but it would have been better if you could use ALL/ALL items + class specific/ALL and the cleric need to lose the DoT and gain a HoT.

The cleric is ok for lower level groups (IE lvl 55 and under). I have used it for LDON missions when we couldn't find a healer. The fairy enchanter is excellent though. Can cast haste, slow, mez, clarity, and even a speed buff.

I personally don't care for the tank or rogues. They are just too underpowered to be useful.

I think its really insane how slow the leveling is on the shrouds. I mean its not like unlocking all of them gives players any type of major advantage.

Just two notes I would like to add,

1) Getting your shrouds exp to unlock the next tier is NOT level based, so go shroud to level 5 or 10, get you a Damage shield, and lay waste to Kurns. You'll get about 110% exp for 3 cycles of clearing the upper floors. So all that garbage about 1000 red con kills for next shroud? Dump it out with the trash.

2) I think shrouds are pretty useless unless you are antisocial and hate exp with anyone but you and your 2 box. I say this because in a group, you'll get better exp, 3 or more boxing, you'll get better exp than you could as a shroud. however, 2 boxing one shrouded and one unshrouded is easier (note I said easier not faster) than 2 boxing both shrouded or unshrouded.

The best calc's I can summarize on shroud exp is you will get about 0.14% the normal exp you would get for killing a mob of about the same comparisson to your level.

Somebody explain, then.

Why do Spirit Shrouds exist?

They die easy, and you can't equip them so what' the point?

The best reason to use the shrouds is to preserve your pet!! All buffs, all pet toys and everything stay right on my dog until I unshroud. So, if I have to move stuff in the bank, make a baz run, what ever, I do it in a shroud so that my buffs dont die off.

There is the real reason.... Oh and if you want to go exploring a zone that your not sure of too! Get a high level goblin rogue shroud and /hide /sneek your way around. (Can you say Slipgears gem?) Also, if your a non gating class and want to run to a Monster mission. All shrouds have a gate back to pok. This worked great for my ranger when HHK was up and running wild. (I know about the usual types of ranger gate...thanks anyway...)

Take care!
