DoN Faction.Follow

Hello folks.

I would greatly appreciate some assistance on this issue.

I have done all of about 2 DoN missions.

I received the thingy that looks kind of like a tear.
I was told to turn this tear into a specific NPC in Lava.
Kind of on the top of a high ridge near the tunnels.

I trusted the person that told me who to give the tear too knew who I was supposed to turn it into.

Now, before I started, at each camp I was Dubious.
I got my first couple of quests from the good wayfarers.
After I turned the tear into the above mentioned NPC, I went from Dubious to Threatening at the (Good) camp.

My question is this:
Is there anything, (Mini quests etc) that I can do to fix this Faction?
I'm sure gaining additional quests from the good side will do it, But I cannot even get near that camp, as now I am basically kos.

What this boiled down too was, I received Radiant Crystals for my work, that I now cannot turn in....Kind of a bummer.

Any help you well informed and knowledgeable people can lend will be much appreciated.

Thanks very much for your time.

Everytime you do a good mission you get a token. This is what I think you refer to as a tear.
This needs to be turned in to NPC at good camp after EVERY mission you do since they are lore. Every time you turn one in your faction will go up.
You can also kill guards at evil camp to improve faction, however that is alot slower then doing missions since there are only 4 guards to kill with long respawntime.

Also, see third post in this thread for a very good walkthrough of DoN progression.

Thanks for your reply.

So what you're saying is, after each successful mission, I should receive this token.

I need to turn that token in, to improve faction.

But, given that I am KoS to the good camp, how might I get around that to improve my faction, and turn in the token?

Can they be turned in invised?

Thanks again, I really appreciate your help.

Only the gaurds care about KoS. the merchants wont attack and you should be able to o the turn ins.

There are also quests out side the tunnels you cando to raise faction.

You can also kill the opposing sides gaurds to raise faction.

In my opinion the best idea they had was the tears. It lets you help folks of the other faction with no faction hit. just destroy the tear if you help with an opposing mission.

You need to do the missions/tasks from the Wayfarer camp to get your faction to indifferent. There are several NPC's at the camp, some give out missions/tasks for the good side and others for evil.

Do those until you are indifferent with Norrath's Keepers (if you want the good side), then you can start the DoN progression missions.

Did you give it to the right NPC? There are two of them, one for good and one for evil. When you hail them they tell you which faction will change. Granted I've never tried to give a token I got from the good side to the evil side NPC, but if it's allowed in game that would explain why.

The answer is simple.

If you were dubious to both camps before you turned in 1 tear to the evil camp, all you have to do is turn in 1 tear to the good camp to go back to dubious at both.

Join a good mission, complete it and turn in your tear.

You can still turn in your crystals for items/spells. Just invis past the guards. Even if KoS, the merchant will not kill you. This is very nice because you can buy from both the evil and the good camps no matter what your faction is.

Yes its a great thing becasue some of those augs can be bought from both sides even though they have the same name, they are technically diff items..

Doing more good missions will get you faction stones that you can turn into another guy outside the camp (can't remember his name but, there's a turn-in guy out in Lavastorm proper that is essentially factionless either way) and will take your faction stones as well as give out solo tasks to build faction.

DoN faction is kinda interesting in that you don't get faction by killing any particular mobs in the DoN zones (EXCEPT the guards in the good and evil camps. The Guards WILL give you faction hits). You get faction only by completing tasks and missions (excepting the guards). It's fairly easy to sway faction. I'd pick either good or evil though and go with it. Most guilds seem to progress through the 'good' content and people mostly only deal in radiant crystals these days.

You need to be indifferent with the task-givers to begin progression. Most (iF already of a good race) will get to indifferent through the turn-in of five faction stones.

Just wondering if those who have responded today, realize the last post to this thread prior to today was Sep. 7th, 2005?

It happens :) I should of said something last night, when Twoma first responded. :( It's too easy to assume one of these threads is actually a current question when someone puts it at the top of the list by responding to it :D

I too used to do it all the time on a different set of forums. At least on Alla, it's pretty easy to see the post date. On some forums, it's not so easy to find :D
