Tribute - I am ConfusedFollow

#1 Aug 29 2005 at 5:25 PM Rating: Decent
Hello everyone,
I am just confused as can be about the Tribute system. Does anyone have a link that explains how to activate the tributes?

I have gone to Neriak, given a lot of stuff to the Tribute lady there (I am a DE Necro), and selected several "abilities" from the list, but I never have figured out how to Activate these things I have chosen.

I wish I had more information about the entire tribute system overall.

If you can help, post it please.
Thanks

I am sure someone can dig up a better link but in a nutshell...

At the donation NPC you are given a menu to choose from. What pains me is the stupid names, you need to read and decipher what some actually do. Read through and see which ones you might need and if you 'upgrade' to them they go into your benefits window with the price. This is the price that is charged every 10 minutes your tribute is active. To activate your benefits you use the Alt-U menu like Krakum said. Once you turn it on, you are charged in 10-minute blocks.

Tips:
Choose a limited set of benefits. Believe it or not 1000pp of tribute gets eaten up very fast if you have 65pp in charges per ten minutes. You may find over time which ones are most useful. You can ONLY change benefits at the NPC. For me, I just use mana regen on casters and hp regen on my monk.

Watch the clock. It gets recharged automatically so check the timer on the alt-u window. If you are done fighting or close to done and time is running out, you can de-activate it. I have forgotten once and logged off. Guess what? They are active when you log back in...

Tribute effect counts as WORN effects. That means you can only have +15 worn mana regen including tribute.

As an added bonus. Some UI's actually have Tribute timers built into them :) Makes it very nice and easy to watch for the perfect time to deactivate tribute benefits.

DOH! Is that true? If so, I have FT15 in items already and have been "buying" tribute for FT as well all to no avail.

Guess you learn something new everyday...I cannot believe I didn't know that!
