Is SOE even trying to find exploiters?Follow

Last night I was running through POK when someone shouted that they were looking for interested individuals with 100k worth of Gear and PP to Triple or Quad their money.

Curious I sent the guy a tell and he replied that he had found a way to dupe items and that I would have to trust him because I would have to give him the stuff for him to Dupe. I use the pop up tell windows and closed that one prior to /reporting him.

So I petitioned it to a GM. I got the response that it is difficult for them to know that individuals are doing this kind of stuff. Blah blah blah. and that I should engage the individual to try and get him to admit it in tells and then /report him.

Come on SOE. Why should I have to do this? Your telling me they dont have character's/accounts that are not marked as GM's to do this? It isnt like it was hard. All I did was send a tell to the guy and he told me exactly what he was doing.

I wonder if they are really even making any attempt at all to stop this kind of stuff.

so you give him 100K worth of your gear and he is supposed to dupe it? Sounds like a scam to me because if he found a way to dupe items and/or plat why would he need your stuff to dupe, he could just dupe his own and sell to vendors for plat etc. I think if you fall for this, he goes LD and never comes back.

I would be hesitant to even engage this guy in discussion about an exploit, as talking about an exploit in-game is a bannable offense. It scares me that the GM suggested that to you???

All I can say is....Wow!

Because if you were to actually follow SOE's advice you yourself would be violating the Eula, and therefore yopur account could be banned.....Smiley: jawdrop
(Discussing an exploit)

So what is a GM gonna give you a "Special" undercover flag so they know you're a good guy and not actually trying to Dupe plat and items!?!?!?

Only one term for this one......C****** F***!!!!
(Use your imagination for the explative above)

Trust me I didnt talk to the guy after the first time. It seemed like as scam to me also though I wouldnt have done it if I thought I would get my stuff back.

Whats even more annoying is that the guy forgot his afk message was up and in his AFK message he stated that he was duping stuff and that he would get back to you when he was done. (which I told the GM in the original petition). So all he/she would have had to have done was send him a tell and the confession was right there.

Someone on FV actually was banned recently for duplicating items, along with a few partners in crime and some alts.
On top of that; their best members promptly left the guild.
