Server transfer & Veteran RewardsFollow

Does anyone know if free server transfers are still available from the merge? I just met someone in Florida who plays and have created a new toon on his server. It would be great if I could transfer my existing charcter to this new server instead of starting over again.

Also, its a long-shot, but I wonder if SOE would let me transfer my veteran rewards to a different toon. Probably not, but has anyone ever asked?

server transfers, IIRC, were only available from 30 days after your server(s) were merged.

AFAIK Veteran Rewards CANNOT be transferred to another toon. Says so in BIG BOLD LETTERS on the write up for the feature.

GM's WILL NOT ALLOW VET REWARD TRANSFERS BETWEEN TOONS. BE CAREFUL AND ABSOLUTLEY SURE WHEN YOU ACTIVATE YOUR REWARDS.

Now, having said that...it won't hurt to submit a petion requesing it, you may get a GM that doesn't know this policy, or one that is feeling extraordinarily nice that day :)

Can more then one character per account get veteran rewards? I was away when they implimented this so I'm a little foggy on it.

The reason I ask is because it sounds like only 1 character per account can have veteran rewards but I have an account where 2 characters have the vet rewards, (only the first one).

More that 1 toon can get Vet rewards on a account. I THINK it is baises on number of years you have had a active account. 1 year 1 reward on 1 toon.....3 years 3 rewards on 3 toons.

I have a quick question.

Just returned to the game (account was active the time I was gone).

How do I access these veteran rewards??

My account has been active for at least 2 years.

Please advise!

Thanks!

IIRC, you log in the first of the characters on which you wanna have the reward (you will get 2 rewards on 2 characters) and have to type /veteranreward (or was it /veteranrewards?).

Please correct me if this is wrong...

I do have a question.
If you have claimed your veteran reward, then once you reached your next year can you claim that year's veteran rewards?

Yes, plus you can claim the rewards on an additional character.

As to # of characters who can claim rewards (per account)...

I think if you have played part of a year you get credit for that. I have two accounts, one is 2.5 years old and I have claimed 3 veteran rewards for 3 characters.

Account number 2 just passed year one. I had one veteran reward claimed on one character. Now I can claim another.

did you purchase a long subscription tho? If you purchase a year in advance, you'll get the vet reward, since SoE KNOWS that you'll be (active) for that year.

I only get the monthly subscription and I got the vetereans rewards. So no It goes for everyone.

I understand it goes for everyone.

What I'm saying is, if you purchase a year subscription...you get NEXT year's vet reward.

By going monthly, you actually have to wait a year to get the next one.

Follow along?

Follow Along?

I understand now what you meant to say. Wasn't to clear the first time you mentioned it but all is ok. Thank you the clarification.

Perhaps, I did purchase year in advance for both accounts. Only Account #2 got the 'you may add this character to veterans rewards' message right about the time it passed one year.

Wouldn't suprise me if the eligible activation time wasn't working exactly as planned.

AFAIK if you purchase a year, you get the next reward. I would also assume that you would be able to add this reward to another toon, it's possible that you have to wait a year to be able to add to another toon.

The promotion that allowed you to get an extra veteran reward for buying the 1-year subscription to EQ is over. It ended in June.

As for the activation time, there are a couple things to remember:

1) it's based on the time you've been paying for your account, not the age of your account. So if you have an account that is 4 years old, but you took a 2 year break, you are only eligible for 2 rewards.

2) the time is recalculated during the first week of every month. So if your account was started on the 28th of the month, you will get access to the rewards around the 6th or so.

3) once you have claimed the reward on one character, there's nothing additional you need to do, in order to get the next years reward on that same character. As soon as you are eligible, it will automatically be added.

4) if you delete a character that has a reward on it, the reward is gone forever. You cannot transfer the rewards once you have claimed them, so be careful who you claim them on.

5) if you have two accounts, Account A (2 years old), and Account B (1 year old.) You have a character with the veteran rewards on Account A, and you transfer him to Account B. You cannot then claim another reward on Account A (once they are used, they are gone.) Since your character is now based on Account B, he will get the rewards based on that accounts time, so you will have only 1 reward now, instead of 2.

Did I miss anything?
