"An old in-game friend brought up an incident the other night that happened to me a long time ago. I'd forgotten about this.

I was running for my life from a pack of Skeletons in East Commonlands as young Rogue, and someone shouted LOADING, PLEASE WAIT. I wasn't paying that much attention and let go of the up arrow.

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT.

Ah, fook."

Lmao, thats creative XD I think thats the funniest thing I've heard in a while, made me spill my coffee. ;.;

moved to EQ2...

This is smart, I was bored on night and went to CoM to solo with my 61 necro. I decided to see if I could get lucky enough to find a Jade Reaver, so I wander over and start in on the black reavers with my pet. I had Conviction up as did my pet and was feeling scrappy. Killed the reavers and ran up to loot them when bang I can't see. Might have been because Lord Rak'Ashiir popped and I failed to pay attention. I really hate being blind. I tried to move away to let pet work, but must have backed into a corner.....Loading screen pops up.Smiley: cry

Oh well, guess not the first time, wont be the last.

My dumbest:

I always play with 2 computers, a desktop with my toon on it and a laptop tuned into Alla. After getting a group invite to The Hole, which I had never been to, I started running that way. I pulled up directions on Alla on how to get there and was reading about the mobs, the drops, heck I don't know what I was reading but I surely wasn't paying attention to the game.

Next thing I know I was zoning - that's cool, got there faster than I thought I would. Then I zone, see a big huge Golem, and die at his feet. Of course you all know I fell in the Hole.

No biggy, I begged in PoK for a necro to come summon me (there was no guild lobby yet) - found one for 200pp (ouch) and headed back to The Hole. Problem was I wasn't paying attention the first time, so when I ran back I didn't know there was a hole there and fell in again. Try explaining that to the xp grp that's still waiting for you.

My first toon was a monk, and I spent days struggling in the throne room in CB trying to gain experience. So by the time I'd hit 45 I decided to head back for some sweet revenge.

I roll into the TR and see a group getting hammered by Crush and DVinn. Nice guy that I am, I start gleefuly killing all the mobs. DVinn, Crush, Lord Darish; they all fell before my power.

Lost in the glory of battle, I continue targeting and killing with wild abandon. I'm targeting and attacking mobs as fast as I can, both to save the poor 'noobs', and to sate my lust for vengeance.

Feelings of leet uberness wash over me as I realize that I'm unbeatable! Nothing can stand in the way of my awesome skills! So of course when I see a red con mob by the name of Orc Messenger, I waste no time in throwing a rock at him.

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT.
#57 May 10 2006 at 4:28 PM Rating: Good
This guy says "try the new /ex command, it shows you how much experience you get from killing a mob."

3 groupmembers immediately go LD and the rest were laughing too hard to care.

Last night honestly, sheese. Finished 68.3 spell mission after 14 tries at the named. I was ML, as each task was completed I destroyed the no trade drops to make room for loot. After named was killed up pops the rest of the tasks appeared on the list, thus requiring a turn in of the no trade loot. Sheese, thank goodness I had not destroyed the helmet from the named that was also required. We had to continue to kill until items were looted again. Seamy will no longer main loot!!

I went through a time where i had to test out all of the int casters (High Elves) and got them to about 4 before i got bored, and I was on my lvl 4 enc and had just gotten back from buying my new spells and I found this group and thought id buff them with this nifty new spell i got called Color Flux. WELL, about 1 second after i started casting the guard came walking by and didnt like the spell too much and terminated me. I go back to my corpse and they were laughing at me =\.

I started EQ just after GoD was released, my first MMO I ever played. I was always big on RPG's and thought "How cool they have an RP server!"

I started on Firiona Vie, made a Froglok Paladin. I ran around Innothule as my RL friend is trying to explain how to get to PoK, and I end up coming accross an LDoN group waiting to enter their adventure. I ask them how to get to PoK, they say the book. I tell them I don't have that book yet, and they say PoP is required. ???? WTF is PoP? One of them says players can port me there, so I hound them for 10 minutes asking for a port, and finally I get one. Finally in PoK!

I begin /ooc'ing about my character, a lost Froglok adventurer in need of gear, looking for high adventure! etc. My RL buddy tells me I should try the bazaar for gear, and he leads me to the bazaar. Again, I start /ooc'ing asking for gear and help, etc. Only to be met with replies of "Quit begging joo n00b!" and "Haha those E-bay toons are getting desperate" and basically everyone just starts trashing on me.

I had no understanding of the game, and was REALLY pissed at all these people that were so mean! I wanted to get in a fight real bad, and someone convinced me to settle it in the arena. Yep, Loading, Please wait..

Ahh yes, growing pains! Smiley: mad

I was in this new guild and we were trying to learn each others playing styles. My cleric was in the 50's at the time and the newly formed guild i was in decided to raid Kael. It was decided i was the main healer by the guild leader. My real life friend (rogue) didnt have maps and had a very slow computer at the time was on autofollow. I figured i had maps so i could get us there no problem. We start our journey. I decided that i wasnt going the long way and wanted to drop down the little cliff right before Kael. I had enough hps to take a little stumble. So down i went. Rogue followed suit. Loading, Please Wait. We were all on teamspeak and i heard my friend say "What the..." and knew he didnt get off autofollow fast enough. I couldnt stop laughing when i heard everyone else laughing. Good thing we had a bot cleric with us. I get the rez and rez the rogue. From that day on i learned to never go anywhere without my lev potions. Smiley: grin

One day, owning a Mistmoore MM, I was arguing with one of the noobs in group. I was a pretty dominant leader, and not taking the bs he was putting out.. I told him to follow my lead, quit pulling trains, or I'd kick him. A couple minutes later, we came to a room, and he ran into it, without anything agroing him. He, in his typical annoying manner, said let's run past these, because he used "tank mez" on them.. and then another guy in the group ran past the MOBs with him. I didn't buy "tank mez" for a second, but I ran in to see what was up.. they attacked and killed me. Turns out the guys were using Invis vs Undead, and I was too distracted to consider that before runnign to my death.

Used to Snare myself a lot as a noob back when I first made my Druid. Root, occasionally, too.

On Rallos Zek, I got caught up in a war between the top three guilds. I claimed moral grounds.. even though the guild whose side I took even warned me it was an incredibly stupid idea.. just had enough of the top guild's BS, too. In the end, the reigning guild on the server was brought down. After name changes and some strange politics, the remaining ex-guildies were absorbed into the winning set of guilds. Of course, they had to put asside their differences, now being in the same guild. Me, though.. I had pissed half of them off in joining with the guilds who took them down, but since I wasn't actually in them, I was a target.. some of them managed to rewrite the history of which side I was on.

I wanted to see if you could Lev over the zone-in to The Hole. And, no, no you can't.

Running through WK in my 40's?... on my current main. Was just looking around, and I saw a large camp of ogres in the distance. I conned them, and they conned Warmly.

So I told my guild that there was a group of ogres that were Warmly to me in WK.
Then I ran up to them.

LOADING..Please Wait.

And right after, a guildie was kind enough to send the message "Until you get close."

Both of these hapened my first year of playing about 2001.
I can remember falling off the foot bridge in Grobb(the old Grobb)into a pool of lava .. and not being able to climb out,I burned to death.
I remember being stuck between a wall and the side of a building in Ferona Vie(old Ferona Vie). I was there for about 4 hours untill a frendly druid was finally able to get a loc on me .. We grouped with the druid standing just on the other side of the wall and the port out finally worked. This was pre rewind days. I was so far inside the wall it wouldnt have worked anyway.
I remember being in Qeynos in one of the small rooms on the main street. I wanted to change armor .. so I took my old stuff off and layed it on the ground while I tried the new stuff on. There was a breif message about some npc cleaning up a mess. and poof my stuff was gone!

Dumbest thing I did was to accept a race to lvl 60 against this seemingly innocent druid and when I lost, her prize was I had to dye myself pink from head to tow and stay that way until she let me off the hook. Hearing "Pink power ranger coming through" gets old real fast, you know.

Never, ever, accept a wager from someone while you can see her cleavage.

my first attempt at this game was an iksar warrior. she was about level 10 when someone in FoB said they needed a favor and would pay me 50pp. first toon, no money 50pp was a fortune and i agreed.

this guy got another n00b iksar to 'help him out' as well. he ported the two of us to the druid room in surefall and bound us there, many deaths later i had to force quit out of the game and then i deleted the toon.

so, dumbest thing i've ever done in eq, prolly the same dumbest thing i've ever done in RL - trusted someone, lol.

I played for a while on my very first character and finally decided I really didn't like it. Can't remember what class it was but anyway, decided to try and transfer the plat and gear over to a new character. This was before shared bank slots, so I found an empty room in Qeynos and dropped my stuff on the ground. That's when I found out, even rats can pick up your stuff. I had just lost everything I had accumulated up until that point. I was really happy when shared bank slots came in.

Back in 2000 I was finally a 54 druid. I decided to check out the raid scene. I heard of a public Naggy raid and headed to Lavastorm to join. Anyway things were going great. Once raid had cleared to prep room before Naggy the RL told us all who could to bind there. I'm guessing he wanted clerics and buffers to be able to get back to raid ASAP. So I happily bind near the door behind a firepot. We end up winning the fight. We all port out and being a druid I port my group to WC, then log out. Next day I get with a couple buddies in The Great Divide for some much needed faction work. Well my bard friend pulls a train to camp and didn't say so. My paladin friend tries his best to keep aggro on all 4 mobs but I heal him and bam...

I see the Naggy prep room and see 2 fire giants rushing me.

I cut the computer off at this point. To make it short I got on the phone with the bard and we tried to coordinate the pallies gimp rez with my logging in. After 4 tries it worked. I was then level 52 again. :(

I still have my Hierophant`s Crook that I won that night, just because it's the one piece of loot I actually suffered for.

When I was a baby bard, I learned about AE songs/spells the hard way. Standing in the guild hall in front of the Bard Guildmaster, I decided to skillup my musical skills and blissfully unaware of why every rat in the yard had been running to attack me, I start playing my one and only damage song.
"Loading, please wait."

I run a bard on two different servers, and when I got my clickie floaty boots on AR, forgot I didn't have them on FV and ran off several cliffs at high speed. Repeatedly.

ok back before i started my warrior i had a druid and a SK...

the sk was a DE and hung out with my halfing druid.. (you all know where this is going) port... bam sk dead... treant's druids merchants all attacked him and wiped him before he even physically zoned in.. i landed on druid and was like what the hell the DE's taking forever to zone.. wtf he's in PoK??

look around on druid never saw his corpse... consented the druid did a /target for the corpse never could find it....

i found out that the druid had summoned him about 50 feet away and had boo boo the bear eat him alive but i must spent 3-4 hours searching for the corpse...

also before the SK incident... i got my TL spell to wakening lands (the group version) so i'm with a full group of about 40's toons and we are like well where can the druid take us? and i'm like well we can goto wakening lands i've never been before.

and everyone is like cool i haven't either so we all buff up and port out. we never saw the dragon just know stuff started casting so we uh... RAN..

it took 5 groups to kil that damn dragon and find my corpse lol... i was seriously worried i was gonna have to start collecting gear again (this was before guild lobby, before shadowrest) i was really happy that they found it and then i saw what attacked us as people were swarming it.. next thing i know is it ate me again cause i casted a dot on it cause they asked me to help out... it threw a 65 druid dot on me and ate me in about 18 seconds lol.

just advice for others.. if ur low and there are 5 groups taking something out.. DON'T HELP... lol

Tired after a long day, and night of EQ, I decided to try a little quad kiting in group to get my guildy some quick xp. Ran around to gather my victims, run them in a circle, cast Bonds of Tunare, and proceeded to get pounded.

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...

A better target would have been one of the mobs instead of myself. I think every druid snares themselves at least once (or a half dozen times) with Bonds of Tunare. If you are smart, you learn to sidestep.

We decided to run up to Jaggedpine to hunt gnolls, so I grab the Elf Ranger and Dark Elf SK and load Circle of Surefall. I load into the zone and see my screaming guildmasters rushing me.

Argh! Wait, they aren't after me. Whew. Sorry buddy. Consent your corpse will you? Camping to the cleric.

If you meet a DESK that casts invis on himself before the port, you won't need to ask him why.

Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are, that's funny.

I have done more dumb things than I can remember but the one I still get reminded of is when a few of my guildys wanted to go to The mines of nurga. Being the well traveled pally I am, I told them I would escort them there and show them the zone. We met in OT and told them to Auto follow me. The bard in the group started singing selo and I took off running towards the zone.
With a good little run ahead I hit num lock and decided it was a good time for a beer. Upon my return I noticed that I was naked in PoK as where my guild mates. I asked what happened and they informed me that there is one big hole in the center of OT and I had run the whole group in it. NOW, lesson learned, they laughed at me for days!! Well they got to laugh a lil more when I did the same exact thing (by myself this time and with no num lock on) about a week later but this time I did not fall to my death. Instead, Me and my poor horse was on the wall about halfway down with no where to go but a long drop to my death again.
#73 May 16 2006 at 12:50 PM Rating: Decent
1) This was back when POP had just come out, i did not yet have the expansion but all my guild mates did. Well they are all(over lv 40) going to help a a guild mate take down the general in Kith for his epic, i wanted to go with them because i had yet to go on a raid. Well i was only lv 38 but i had anon on for a while so i said i was 40 and OMW. I got there got my invite, helped out as much as i could with my pet and my fire shields. After the fight was over and everyone was rolling for loot the raid leader asked why a LV 38 was there, turns out the new raid tools show your lv even in anon.... So I learned my lesson there.
2) Shortly after The General Raid my house got robed and my comp was stolen so i was without a comp or EQ for a few years.I got a new comp and thanks to a Media Play closeout sale I got all the expansions and 5 90day cards for around $75. So I start over and am wondering around POK and all of a sudden this mystical rod thing appears in my hand. I go to mistmore and am soloing when I notice that hey this rod cast something if i left click it wonder what it does...Loading please wait.... Lesson learned, do not use rod of mystical trangrivence when you only have 400HP....

Back when I was a young druid, I grouped with another druid and a ranger in East Karana.

We decided to be risky, and go try the Gorge of King Xorbb, a place none of us had ever been to, but we had heard it was a place for good cash (pre-Luclin, 1st characters).

So, we managed to work our way in to the evil eyes.

The ranger pulls one, I nuke it, and suddenly my screen goes blank.

I panicked, and started hitting all of the keys on my keyboard. I checked to see if the power was still on.

Finally, I turned off my computer since I figured it was a bug.

I finally get powered back up, and find myself naked in gfay.

The other druid starts yelling at me that I attacked him and wanted to know what kind of idiot I was to do that. I tried explaining to him that it wasn't me (or so I thought).

Well, I still didn't know exactly what had happened, but I ran back to the Gorge, but I couldn't find my corpse.

After looking all over on the ground, I finally found it about halfway up the wall.

Weeks later, I found out that Evil eyes can blind and charm you (so I had nuked the other druid). I found out about the charming part when I attacked one in EK and it promptly sent me right into the water and drowned me.
#75 May 17 2006 at 12:14 PM Rating: Decent
ouch the person above me that posted about charming that sucks big time... also once when i was playing my enchanter (mind you i've never actually died from casting spells or gotten agro instantly as the chanter) but i was sitting in felwithe doing the tash coin collect quest for the tash spell now i didn't do this quest cause it was long boring and dull so i started around 53...

i'm in the water i spent probably a half hour looking for this coin cause i was doing the quest from reading where items were, not exact loc's. anywayz i find it and i just decide i'll gate to pok....

i'm sitting there and i cast gate and i fizzle and i'm like (f%^%ing figures) so i cast again and i walk away from the pc.

i come back and i'm in pok and i'm like sweet lets go get the next coin... wait... why aren't my spells up??

next thing i pull up inventory i'm like what the hell??
i'm naked. so i scroll up and get messages you are drowning and i'm still going what the hell i casted gate......

i scroll up some more.. "your gate is to unstable and collapses".....

i was just like /laugh at this point.... i can't belive the gate spell didn't go off... i was like ah hell... i drowned cause i can't cast a level 5 spell properly... my friends still say hey man.. when you gate make sure you see a loading screen before taking off lol.

my next thing i've done stupid is an invis on a person with a pet (before the invis thingey that don't kill pets) dude was like jonab was alive 5 days and you killed him with invis you *******!

also i found this out recently... you know if you dire charm something and invis dire charm breaks? ... did not know that... thank god druid had a 70 warrior next to him and said PoV froggy ur dead.

So way back in the day I played a paladin on Tholuxe (was back right after TP opened) and I was working on my paladin epic. I had the books and all and was getting ready to raid on Friday to head to Sky for that part of epic. After a nice exp group on Wednesday I was getting ready to log and went to the bank in Freeport to drop off some stuff etc.

Standing in front of the banker I put my Soulfire in the bank. Then as I hit the button at the bottom of the window I realize I had just HANDED my weapon to the banker.

Yes back in those days you could hand bankers items and they woudl eat them. Thank god the next night my friends gathered around and helped me get all that dumb quest again so I would be ready Friday.

Man my guildies gave me crap for that...well some still do.
