Where does a Half Elf shine..?Follow

#1 Aug 07 2005 at 7:18 PM Rating: Decent
I've always wanted to start a Half Elf, and I'vde decided to create one today... I was just wondering what direction should I go in with a Half Elf... Ranger, Paladin or Bard? I presume that they do not serve well as warriors... I'm interested in anyone's personal opinion of which class a Half Elf can successfully play, and proof.

I personally think you can shine with any race/class. Bad starting stats can always be compensated with gear (if you can afford some)and on the long term AAs. Create a charater you like and give it a personality after all arent we in a role-playing game??

I find half-elves make fairly good bards.

i play a half elf warrior and find that even though his stats aren't the greatest i can compensate with gear fairly easily and for not a lot of cash

I've always had a sweet spot in my heart for half-elf bards. I just think they feel better than wood elves for bards. It's like the race that best associates with the class. For rogues I've always felt it's a short race. For clerics and paladins it's always high elves and humans. All of it just makes sense RP-wise.

Half-elves don't really have a home and tend to be a wandering breed. It only seems natural that in their constant quest for a true hearth they would sing and dance and try to ease the sorrow of their existential quandary.
