i think the loot is too high in quality. people were going nuts over it. i,myself,trained dark elves on the frogloks and i nuked the dark elf captain steadily. after the captain died, a person jumped out of no where and looted the corpse. i mean, what the heck, do people have any decency at all? if you see someone killing a mob, back the heck away. do people have any respect?

it brought Training back to eq, Ninja Looting Back to eq, Kill Stealing back to EQ it was a disgusting event to wtiness.

I love the loot, as high in quality as it may be its awesome, and a challenge to get =)

The two nights the war went on in Innothule/Ferrott, I and a couple others got my guild 30 or so drops, only got 1 myself, but I do say, we made people VERY happy =)

I can't wait till the next event starts, anyone know when it does?

After 2 minutes the corpse is available to loot by anyone (correct me if I'm wrong). Ninja-looting, to me, is when someone in your group loots a MOB and keeps the item before it has been decided who should get the loot. After the two minutes it isn't really ninja-looting because VERANT/SOE(I mention Verant cause it was that way before sony took over) made a corpse become available to all. If your going after an uber drop you should have a plan in place about who/what should get the drop and then /roll, /loot within the timeframe. If you drop an uber MOB and you are preoccupied with adds/whatnot, someone in your group should be looting (you should know where/what you are going to experience ahead of time). If your solo, well I guess you should take a chance and loot before you die. At least you can summon your corpse with the item on your body. It becomes a suicide run, but that's what the latest GM events are becoming. They *are* holding these things in NEWBISH zones. Imagine how a level 5 feels running around in this crap. I know it sucks but if your expecting people to have some sort of decentcy VS. Greed sheesh you haven't played long.

Anyone who would loot something that they didnt kill is a ninja. No way around it. If it is about to expire thats totally different but profiting off another person's kill is wrong.

Lets see uber loot for those over 65's in raid guilds who can put people in the zone round the clock to keep the mobs to themselves and train anyone who tries to get one of "their" mobs... yea SOE rocks as usual Smiley: disappointed

now what do you want to bet the new expansion's going to be for the high level raiders as well, come on SOE give us something that those of us who play for fun can get... you may remember that's why you play a game to have fun... I know it's a over rated concept but some of us still like to just regular group to get things and not have to join a raid to maybe have a chance to roll on something nice

I agree that the loot is WAY too high end, i mean make the loot elemental lvl, 200hp is fine, but dont make it anguish or tacvi lvl i mean wtf. Guilds work there asses off to get tacvi and anguish then you make events that drop that loot and lvl 50's are looting them. I have seen people not go in on some items lately because they want to get the items from the war because they are better then the items in tacvi and anguish or close.

My opiniong would have to be make the items that drop 150hp-200hp and make them drop a lot, make the event easier so people arnt dieing constantly, make mobs not run as fast so certain people can actually do this, make captians not agro from so far away and make them not see invis would help a lot also.

I think that these events are great, having new apps being able to go to these wars and get them 200hp armor without spending dkp in the guild and going negative for the first few months is great, these wars have helped gear up guildies fast and its fun.

I totally agree, they need to make like, flunky mobs that drop items for lower level people, and are in a different group that fight the flunkies from the opposing side or something.

I wouldnt mind comin t get loot on lower lvls, even if my main is 70 =)

YEAH RIGHT!!! What loot I can't even get close to the war without getting KILLED by one side or the other, depending on what toon I am playing at the time. And I have not seen or do I know of anyone that has participated in this "so called event" that has shown what they receivied from killing the key mobs.
So far all I have heard from it is "I was walking through zone xyz and had a mob come out of nowhere and hit me 3 times and I died," can anyone rez me in the zone?
Even though I might want to get involved with this "event" I cant due to it being for levels 65 or higher.

I love it. It brings out the best in everyone. lets everyone really show thier true colors. Lets the whole server know who the asshats are , who the ninja looters are. I love it got to report 4 people for ninja looting its terrific. Plus we get to hear the lowbies cry up a river. Great . Cant beat 200 hp plus gear for twinks. I love to hear the lowbies cry they cant even kill the mobs 2 grped and the ubers 3man them for their twinks. Hell on Mealin server i sold some of the stuff for over 750k a piece. Cant wait for the next one

I find it funny to hear the lowbies complaining that the content isn't for them. Look at all the static DoN zones, they're all light blues and greens to lvl 70's. So you would think that the lowbies are happy since that part of the expansion was designed for them..... yet.... all those zones.... are empty. In contrast, when OoW came out, the last expansion designed for high levels, zones like NCauseway, WoS, MPG, RSS, are still packed with people.

There's no point in making content for the low levels. They don't like to explore, they don't like to raid, all they want is stuff they shouldn't be getting at their levels anyway. There's a million zones out there for lowbies already, and since they're "new" to the game, those zones are as good as new for them anyway.

I hope sony learned their lesson about low-level content, all they have to do is look at the population in the static DoN
zones. There is no one there, other than the random 1 group of high levels working on progression.

I enjoy the war, I haven't been this excited about EQ for a long
time. Keep the trains coming!

What the... ??? Lowbies don't like to explore? The existing zones are as good for them anyway? This is the biggest piece of s*%& I heard in a long time. Sockpuppet, Astucexxx, aren't you? Trying to provoke people? Why the hell should new content be high-level only??? This is what SOE does all the time!

Well, maybe and hopefully DoD will be different...

I read a post below that said that ninja looting is looting any mob that you didn't kill. Well, that is really only one aspect of it. Ninja looting is basically looting something you know you shouldn't be. Period.

So was there a lot of ninja looting. You bet. All kinds of great activities went on, like a FD toon that just pulled a train on you to keep your group/raid from looting a mob you just dropped. Or my favorite, "Bob the Warrior" disbands from the raid to ninja loot the belt while the person next in line tries to find it. This event truly brought out the worst in people. I got a couple nice items, but not sure I want to do this again, gear or not. This event left a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths.

I saw more ninja looting, more kill stealing, more intentional training in the five or six total days I camped this then in the entire previous year. Nice idea, bad implementation, and encouraged some of the worst behavior in an MMORPG.

I would rather settle into a good guild, with a solid raid format, and solid loot distribution plan, and work for my gear that way. It was a solid try for entertainment value SOE, but camping this stuff wasn't fun at all. I'm RICH BEEYATCH!!!

The biggest problem is, there aren't even semi-decent Quest rewards relating to this War.

Also, as anyone who knows anything about military tactics knows... there should be ways to attack "supply lines", "reinforcements" & "reserve units".

This would enable lower level & less well geared people to still "be involved" and get loot appropriate to their level, but still notable upgrades. Besides, it's all scripted anyway... it doesn't matter if on one server everyone helps the Froggies while on another server everyone helps the Trolls. The outcome will end up the same no matter what.

To prevent high level people from "hogging all the weaker targets"... have it work like a combination of activated event (like the assault scripts in Grimling Forest) and average level sensitive quest-givers. For example, if a party who's average level was 68 or higher tried to get the event to attack the "reserve units", they'd get told that their skills more are needed on the front lines. Bigger events could require the person asking the quest-giver to be part of a Raid force (again, just like the scripts in Grimling Forest), and still discriminate against forces that were too powerful.

Further, everyone in the initial group/raid could gain a temporary "flag" that would enable them to engage the enemy. Outsiders would be totally unable to attack. Or, depending on how difficult it would be, instanced versions of some zones could be used.

I would also like to see the Sand Elves of Takish Hiz & the Orcs & Goblins of Rujark somehow involved. The attacking forces did head very close to these two groups.

As far as the loot its self is concerned, it is of very high quality. So high, and difficult to obtain, in fact, that only the already uber seem to be able to get a look in. As a 67 Ranger in a mid-strength guild i had almost no chance whatsoever of laying my hands on one of those lovely +300hp items. Yet again i feel SoE has deserted the lower end of the game, and cut the already uber another break. When will they think about the little guys??

The loot is nice no doubt, but I've become disillusioned with the events like that. Have them on the weekend so folks can actually go!!! They really also need to have content that the lower lvls can get into involving those events.

Lowbies don't like to explore, or else they wouldn't complain about lack of content, period.

New content should only be high level only. Why? Because we
the high levels have already gone through the old content. The
lowbies haven't. How in the world can they tell the difference
anyway? It doesn't matter that Sebilis has been around for years.
If you're lvl 50 and it's your first time stepping in there, it
IS new content for YOU. Go to Luclin, go to DoN, go to the myriad
of other zones available for lvls 30-60, they will all be new to
you, because it will be your first time there.

Why is this so hard to understand? You want a lower level war
event? Go through the war in hollowshade moor, it can be done at
lower levels with a group or two.

This is why I say lowbies don't like to explore. They try to get
to high levels going through the zones where they can get the
best xp, so they can too become high levels. And in the process,
they only see 10 percent of the content available for them. And
then they're high levels, just like us, and they realize, just
like we do, that sony needs to make more content for us, because
there's a lot more of us than you, and we're running out of
content fast, whereas you still have tons of places where you can
get good xp/gear/quests that you don't even bother to visit.

I've played several characters to 65+ and have many more 60+ besides, yet I've far from exhausted all the race/class combinations; indeed I haven't tried a quarter of them. It's because "we the high levels have already gone through the old content" that there should be more lowbie content. For the record, Lowbie does NOT = Newbie.

When I tire of grinding my high level stable, I'd like to try out a new class from scratch. But the prospect of doing so has less and less appeal because I've tried all the feasible old lowbie areas. I'm sure I'm not alone when I think how nice it would be to start a new class and utilize some new lowbie zones.

And on top of that the Devs feel they continually have to bork (oops, I meant re-vamp) old zones. Pity the lowbie gathering quest pieces in Greater Faydark when the War event Orcs and Elves are about. If they have to revamp, why not revamp all the broken code and bugs in the game before ******* with content?

Anyhow regarding the subject, the loot seems appropriate to me. Given what I know about the difficulty of the encounters compounded by player character interference, it seems that any of these items are hard won. I'd sure as hell would be pissed to endure all of that BS for some PoS 50hp item I could easily have bought in the bazaar for 20pp.

305hp items dropping from soloable (yes, soloable, if I can exploit kill ykesha on a 5000hp monk, it's not exactly hard) content is down right absurd, regardless of whether it's just one event. 200hp items would be on the outer edge of reason.

on FV, the only drops so far were gotten by 'uberguilds,' so it's not me objecting to casuals being able to get gear or anything.

my response to the lowbie content is that if lowbies do only go to old world zones where xp is still decent, they get only crap loot and can't actually upgrade without bazaar or getting help from someone else in a guild or whatever. the new content most people refer to other then raiding high lvls is for mid or lower lvl guilds that cant raid elementals or higher do to low number of guild members and more casual play schedules.. not cause they started playing EQ 1 month ago and want 300hp items now. I personally love the DoN content with crystals and such because its the best stuff i can personally attain without being in a raid guild. and i still go to old world zones to xp and stuff as well.

new content should be new stuff for the highest end to conquer, as well as stuff for older players that arent high end and can mainly do small groups. which is what they seem to be doing since LDoN...

This event was not limited to persons from Uber_Guild_012.
The drops were available to anyone. But only if you were able to find the means to accomplish the task.
For some that meant, gathering a couple of groups and pulling the mobs that dropped the loot and killing them. Others found ways of accomplishing this solo. Some still, used a full raid.

The point is that the event offered great rewards but at a great sacrifice. I personally, died at least 30 times on 2 different characters while attempting to get stuff.... and I got what I was looking for. To me that was an acceptable risk. To those that didn't feel the risk was worth it... well, my feeling is that these are the same people that won't go some places in the game because they are too "hard".

For those that just want something to complain about, go play WoW or EQ2. This game has been around for a long time now, and although the content has changed, the gameplay hasn't... whether you are on a quest, or just leveling, or looking for gear, it's all the same..... find said mob, try to kill it.

YES! Absolutely.

Although I don't have high level characters, I consider myself rather a lowbie than a newbie. (I wouldn't call myself an expert, though...) I have seen SOE introduce new content several times now, and most of it was mid- to high-level. I'm not only talking about expansions, but what about the 5th anniversary scavenger hunt? What about the 6th anniversary celebration? What about revamps?

I think it's just blatant generalization to say

Bull$#it. Every player is paying for his accout. Why should those with low level characters get less than those with high level ones? Smiley: motz
