I liked Fallout 1 and 2 a lot. Also great is Planescape:Torment very cool being immortal and having your stats go up as you level in a D and D world, not to mention the whole amnesia learn who you really are thing.
There is another old one I thought of that I still play from time to time, the first Magic The Gathering, not sure if that is really RPG, but I am a weird person who loves Magic The Gathering and hates buying cards, haunting internet sites for days on end, and assembling decks (well that is cool to me in the game, not in RL) .
aye kelti I like that one too the expansions sucked and the orginal can sometimes just lock up and go poof but its a fun lil game that lets you sorta roleplay a fantasy mage and play magic at the same time.

Some of my favorites are Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights and Dungeon Siege. The new Dungeon Siege II comes out sometime this month! WOOT! 
Morrowind as I mentioned before, it took me months and still dont think I finished everything in the main and expansions.
MM 6-8 were fantastic and what led me to Morrowind which led me also to EQ. Nine was good but lacked something.
Just thought of another one, dont think anyone has mentioned called Soulbringer. Thought that a pretty good game.
