Patcher help!Follow

#1 Jul 28 2005 at 2:02 AM Rating: Decent
There must be a way!

I have just installed EQ on my new computer, and without cable or boradband it will take ages to patch, and I want to play EQ!!

So I though of a plan..

Plug in my old computer, and copy all the files from my Eq directory onto some CD-RW's and then drag them into my new Eq directory...and then the patcher will realise that there is no need to patch...

Will this work?

Use a DVD instead (if possible).
It should work, but only if the files on your old computer are up to date! Smiley: smile

EQ does not have to be installed, copy all old files over and you are ready to go. You will need any patches from since the last time you logged on.

Keep a backup everyone and save great grief re-installing.

If you have all of the expansions it will take you about 7 CDs to transfer all of the files over. I think it's 2 DVDs, but can't remember off the top of my head (my old PC didn't have a DVD burner when I had to do the same thing...)

If you can set up a makeshift network, you can also copy right over the network. No CD's needed.

I keep a backup copy of my EQ folder on my wife's PC...without her knowing of course.

It saved my butt a few weeks ago, when my PC died and I had to buy new parts (again). I was unable to save any data, but remembered I had my most current EQ backup saved! yay!
