So the monk gets a plethera of special attacks as they grow in level...I'm wondering is there any benefit to keep advancing the skill level of one (take your basic kick for example) once you receive a new one? I'm assuming that each new attack earned is going to be better than the last one....so am I therefore safe to assume that you would use the new one always from that point on?

some discs/aas require a high skill in a previous one.

Keeping all of them maxed out is basically an exercise in frustration. As Czae mentioned above there are special disc/aa's that use some of the specific attacks (i.e. dragon punch, eagle strike, etc).

These *can* be useful in higher levels for certain situations (knock back, better chance to stun, etc). Once you hit higher levels and it starts taking much longer to level then you'll have a better chance of working them up as needed.

The discs that use dragon punch and eagle strike are not worth it IMO. I got them recently and I'd just rather keep using flying kick. As stated above, they may be better for stunning and such, so if you don't have a pally to stun casters you could use them. But if you are just looking for damage output, flying kick is the way to go. And who doesn't think a flying kick just looks awesome?

70 Monk here. Use the newest skill when you get it and ignore the rest. Once you get the AA Technique of Master Wu, you will end up maxing them all out. This AA lets you fire off up to 3 special attacks from Kick to Flying Kick. It maxes out the skills and adds good DPS.

Most Monks start their DPS AA setup starting with Ferocity, Ambidexterity if you use 1 handers, Punishing Blade if you use 2hb and Wus.

Crippling Strike AA is not useless by the way. Its a Snare for when you don't have Snare in a group or soloing.

You will get Disiplines later in life that effect a specific attack. Some of these are extremly powerful so either keep them all up or do some research on your Disiplines in advance.
