I always make it a point to step away from the game for dinner myself although I have been known to keep a small stash of slim jims next to my desk for a quick crumbless snack

Usually have a can of soda/lemonade handy but on some occasions a nice draft beer (or 2) in a frosty mug...

Do not usually eat since I am a bit fastidious when it comes to grubby hands on keyboards and mice...I did have pizza the other night though...

A fresh can of Copenhagen (snuff), most of the time a glass of water, some times a sota pop. But if my wife gose out of her way to make dinner, I take the time to eat it with her Smiley: wink.

That's my setup as well.
After visiting Georgia, I developed a terrible craving for sweet tea.

I'd step away to eat with my significant other, but she and I are no more....hence my return to EQ a couple of months ago. However I am most happy to see that I am not the only person who enjoys a snack at the keyboards. What I do think is funny is to those that won't eat the keyboard for the cleanliness reason...I do prefer to step away and smoke outside. What I also find encouraging is how many people are eating more healthy things...carrot sticks...banana chips...etc. I don't mind saying that i feel a bit guilty by enjoying my pizza(although it is whole wwheat crust).

Bottle of water and either some mixed nuts or some peanuts. Occasionaly some OJ and toast, especially if it's an early morning session. Although, I like OJ anytime of the day. Hubby doesn't mind my EQ time as long as we have meals together, so no dinner at the keyboard.

Ok. But who the hell *chooses* to buy budlight as a beer? Isn't that like the beer you buy when you know you're going to have a bunch of people over and don't want to spring for "the good stuff"?

Just saying. If I'm buying beer for myself, I'll get a Sam Adams at a minimum...

Orange or Cranberry Juice - by the jug not the glass.

And Wheat Thin or Goldfish crackers - less mess than chips!

LMAO, my thoughts exactly.

I'll step away if my wife cooks something. Its respectful. It also buys me time later on to play longer, hehe. If she doesn't cook, I'll Feign death and go make a quick ham and cheese sandwich and grab some water or a coke.

I'm really surprised there wasn't more 'pizza' answers. Years ago when I started playing eq, I barely took enough time to eat when playing. But when I took the time, it was picking up the phone and calling pizza hut/dominos/papa johns. Luckily I have a friend who part times at dominos (who also plays EQ). He would just bring by free wings when on his way to my place to play on the LAN.

In 5 years of playing Everquest I think I have skipped dinner twice as my guild were mid kill through one god or another. As for snacking, I find I can't go wrong with iced tea (the fake lipton kind, not actual tea), crisps and some scrambled eggs as an impromptu meal.

I cant go without my ramen noodles.... They have to be the ones in the styrofoam cup though. Peel back the top, hit the hot water tap, and let it set while you fight. Add a coke or some gatorade and I am good to go. That is until I get the urge for some popcorn.

I usually have a Pepsi One and some Goldfish crackers nearby. Oftentimes there is some beef jerky or Reese's Pieces by the computer too. Smiley: smile
