Chardok B says 45-60 but deeper in the mobs are still fairly high level. At level 70 a lot of them are light blue but most are dark blue. Several con yellow and even to our 59 druid. A lot of the mobs are undead so as a paladin you would have a hayday in there.

Doesn't The Grey start with a 60% penalty? Smiley: dubious

Not doubting Fadyenae but rather the wisdom of SOE

The Grey might be a hot zone at the moment, actually. I farmed the lucid shard there last week, and while it took FAR too long to get two shards, Sami racked up two AAs and Zas made considerable progress in level 69. This was just killing six mobs over and over with lots of down time waiting for respawn, so a kiter could probably do pretty well.

I was there last night, and the XP isn't bad. I made, on average, 1% aa xp per kill duoing with a 58 warr. Kill rate was pretty decent too. I think I made 30% aa xp in about an hour.

13.. 60... it's all the same. This is why my checkbook balances like it does.

Point remains that making a penalty ZEM zone a "hot spot" seems a bit weird. Do they just eliminated the penalty or is there a bonafide +% bonus?

lol sorry if it was bad info... that is what I had written down one my notebook from another thread here, and it seemed right the way XP was flowing in each of the zones lol ><... at 24 i recomend going to Echo Caverns and staying there until 40... right now my necro has been duoing with a mage in Dulak (very fast kills) and I am getting decent of XP there

Nah, not blaming you.

On a quasi-related note, my SK dinged 48 the other night and was told (via pop-up) to go to Cobolt Scar of all the God forsaken places. Hell, I'd rather go to the Grey.

Thanks Fadyenae Just what I was looking for "BUT" what is up with those Neth Lair eyeless thingies. They con'd blu (not dark blu) and it was everything I could do to handle two I would root one for crowed control but by the time I would get done I would be in the 20s% range and If three showed I would have to run to MOMMA. after a 1/2 hr I went to Echo Cav. and did an LDoN to Everfrost Managrie and "ding" "ding" "ding" made 27 oh then I died and only got 90% REZ lost 27 by like nothing next blue I kill will fix that.

It would be sweet if they did make the Grey a hot spot. That zone was always a paladin's paradise. I use to love hunting there before they put the exp penalty in it.

I never did understand why they did that. It was hard enough to hunt there anyways since you needed a breathing item.

Yes, that page has the up to date hot zones... the grey is actually a hot zone(according to a patch message)
Trablin-- Echo is really great XP until about 37 and then it slows down but is still pretty good until 43 (I soloed up to 46 there) I have never been to Tower of Frozen Shadow, but you could check it out too.

Agreed. You'd think the whole "need an EB item" bit would increase the ZEM, not the other way around.

The reason the Grey was saddled with a ZEM minus was because it used to be a favorite spot for druids and wizards to AE. Something about the way the mobs moved made it really easy and fast. They weren't thinking about paladins and one of the few decent undead camps in the game when they did it.

Honestly though, if you would consider the grey to be decent for a paladin, then Veksar is even better. Great exp, and decent chance for sellable loot. You also need an EB item, but just to get to the zone. There's a range of mostly undead camps that will work for a paladin from level 50 to level 70.

I know this is kind of an old thread but I recently started boxing a warrior/cleric combo and was wondering if I could get some input. Both characters have moderate gear, meaning they are not twinked to high heaven. Currently both are level 13.

I tried the warrens but the mobs there run pretty darn fast. I am currently in Unrest doing the yard trash which is great for that level. There is a plethora of mobs and they don't run. I was looking over this post and was wondering about Echo Caverns and Netherbian Lair.

1. Can a war/clr combo fight effectively in Neth Lair at 15? I ask cause I've heard the mobs are underconned. Maybe it would just be best for me to go to PC but I really dont like that place much.

2. As for Echo Caverns could I potentially fight there from 15 or should I wait to get to 20? Also, how do I get to Echo Caverns? I've run through the section you pass as you run to the deep but have never entered the other area.

Please keep in mind that the last time I created a character I used the same formula I used pre-velious. Bone Chips in BB, CB (gathering belts and pads), unrest, lguk, etc. I want to try different zones while taking advantage of the exp modifiers. Your thoughts would be most welcome.
