Another newbie question on guild hall, patience pls.Follow

#1 Jul 18 2005 at 9:59 AM Rating: Decent
I have decided to play EQ again after stopping back in 2001. There of course have been many changes and expansions. (The last expansion out then was Luclin). So in accordance with that: what is the guild hall? The 4 w's would help Who, what, when, where; so who can go there? what are its benefits? where is its location? and is it available to anyone ala you don't have to have a certain expansion?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The guild hall is a feature of the Dragon's of Norrath expansion. It's neighboring zone is the Guild Lobby, whose enterance is found in the Plane of Knowledge.

Anyone with the DoN expansion can get into the Guild Lobby, notabale features of the GL are:

  • Summoning Altar - allows you to summon all corpses for a set amount based on level
  • Magus - One way Magus to the different adventure camps
  • Guild Recruitment Boards - allows you to advertise your desire to find a guild, or if you are in guild leadership to look for new guild members

  • Once you are in a guild, you can then zone into the Guild Hall. This is an instanced zone created spefically for you and other members of your guild. All buff timers are stopped inside the Guild Hall (with the exception of the Leadership abilities)

Notable features of the Guild Hall are:

  • Bankers - Both normal bankers and guild bankers can be found here. Guild bankers have 250 slots (IIRC) and are manageable by officers and those flagged as "Banker" status in guild management. Anyone in the guild can deposit items in the guild bank.
  • Guild Tribute - a guild tribute NPC is there to accept your tribute items.
  • Birdbath - a birdbath is available for augment insertion and removal.
  • The Hot Tub - My personal favorite. It is a small tub that hastens your HP and Mana regen. Great for buffing sessions or spell traning
  • Tradskill containers - Tradeskill containers of every type can be found in here
  • Vendor - A vendor is availbe to purchase food/drink as well as aug distillers. She will also purchase items from you.
  • Transportation stones - Several stones are available to port you and you guild to different Druid Stones. Some ports available are Lavastorm, West Karana, and Wall of Slaughter. The stones range in price from 10pp to 200pp

  • I think that's everything. It's a very nice addtion to the game.

The guild hall comes with the DoN expansion. It is really 2 things.

First is the guild lobby off of PoK. Everyone with the expansion can go there, it features a summoning area to retrieve your corpse from anywhere for a bit of PP, an area to post you are looking for a guild and a Magus that can send you to any of the other Magus's.

Once you join a guild you can enter into your guilds instanced guild hall, in there is a host of features like, bankers, guild bankers, a merchant, guild tribute master, super fast mana regen pool, tradeskill containers, and a port that you can use to go various places for a few pp, not to mention all your buff timers are paused with the exception of Veteran's AAs

You need the Dragons of Norrath expansion to enjoy it.

What it is is two things: there's an outer hall area that I believe anyone can access, guilded or not. This has NPCs who will summon your corpse for a price as well as message boards for people looking for a new guild or recruitment. There's also a LDoN Magus here.

The "inner hall" is for guilded people only. While in the Hall, your buff timers stop, there are tradeskill containers (no merchants though), bankers, guild bankers that anyone can access and deposit to (there are flags you can place for what items may be removed by whom), a "healing pool" that quickly regenerates lost health and mana and, finally, a gnome who will teleport you to various locales for a price. Which is nice for getting to, say, Cobolt Scar without bugging a druid or wizard.

The Hall is located off of PoK, in the "back" part of the zone, behind the library.
