Just a rant thread, maybe a dev will read it and get a que;

1: Why do they make events 65+ raid crud? No wait I don't want your answer cause all you folks do is quote other peoples posts..

2: Why is it everywhere I go, every zone, I run into high level twink PL'd toons that have no play skill farming and ruining any real camps?

3: People take info on most posts or sites as gospel. Well this is in relation to my earlier thread; Proc Rates, Gbaji, you're cluesless bro, my avg proc rate after 2 weeks of testing is in fact 5 ppm not 2 ppm at dex 224. Whatever know it all info you got is outdated. Maybe next time someone asks for info, you'll provide it insteads of ridiculing someone elses threads.. Way to go Oprah Gbaji.

This is just a rant, but this game has burned my fuze down, since everywhere I go, I run into PL toons that don't know how to use them, Twinks that work some lateral side business out of Mysupersales or IGE, or Raid twinks that are not helping anyone by posting info on old school outdated info and standing on their pedestals thinking they are correct since they gamed EQ for 5 years.. Whatever.

My hopes is one man can change the world, someone will read this and say, you know? EQ isn't fair to new players, just think about how long it takes to get through all the raids, the flags, how much work just to get a decent item.. It's trash. All you out there with multi box or level 70 toons just spoil the game for me daily. Thanks

I'm fairly sure this will open a can of worms......

But how does a high end lvl 70 ruin the game for you????? NowI know this is going to sound sort of snobish and I'm sorry but this is true.....I can't think of a single time I have had my wizard in a lower lvl zone "KSing" quest mobs for ****s and giggles or killing groupable named mobs just to kill ever........

You can get decent items at low lvls ya there aren't any 200 or 300 HP/mana items out there for everyone but hey if everyone had access to the top end gear the game wouldn't be very fun.

IMHO people choose the lvl of the game they want. There is no one out there saying NO YOU CAN NOT EVER GET THIS RAID ITEM....What it comes down to is how much time you put into trying to get that item.

As for twinks ya you might run into some bad ones.....you also run into a lot of bad non twink players.....

Your post was an interesting read up until these above statements.

Games, like real life, have no obligation to be fair. Besides your argument is fallible. Players who are currently level 70 actually worked harder to get there than players who start from level 1 today. Everquest has become much easier to play in so many ways.

As to multi boxers ruining your day "everywhere you go, every zone."

Offhand, I'd say 90% of all zones are empty. Try going to zones that do not have a Plane of Knowledge stone connection. Or a Guild Hall port connection or a Priest of Discord connection. Believe it or not, many exsist where you can play in peace.

yeah, because we all know anyone farming was twinked, powerleveled, and sucks. got a problem with farmers? tell sony to move quest and tradeskill parts over low level zones, and a viable method of solo highend plat farming for more classes.

yeah, people posting disinformation suck. but so do people who spend four minutes doing 'extensive' game mechanics studies, get a RNG fluke, and automatically assume it holds over.

how is it not fair that I raided hundreds of hours to get gear, while you didn't.. and thus I have gear, and you don't?

Well, actually I thought this was Gbaji's sock puppet and Gbaji was just having a slow day at work.

More like Jophiel's sense of humor though come to think of it /wink.

2: Raid twink? Yeah, I can't remember a time I heard someone - not - say ooo oo lemme run my alt out here for XX drop. Or let's go farm XX item for my alt since they can't get it on their own.

3: Granted you worked hard to get level 70 from waaaay back in the day.. Still doen't get rid of you or the other 500 level 65+ that as you say are on all the time.

4: As per the proc rates and Gbaji thrashing, he was just a pop icon of EQ. You're all guilty of it, he just types more. You take his word as gospel as I stated, but what do you explore on your own? Had you posted your own findings to back his "truths" or any other numerous EQ masters, or even arised a new insight of your own, maybe this forum would be worth more than a room full of soap opera watching house wives that just got taken addvantage of by a drunk guy getting in your heads!! HAHA sucker.. Go ahead reply again, I still have your goat, and no you can't milk it.

LoL, Elorian you rock buddy! (I know i know, I am not your buddy cause I suck..)

Thanks for amusing me with yet another waste of internet space, I am sure Alla's is grateful that I don't have kids.

On the real folks, sorry for badmouthing everyone, just wanted to start this thread with a real attention grabber (and a laugh or two) and no, my grammar really IS that bad : P But eh.. that's what happens when you drink. Now moving into the sympathetic portion of the thread;

Sorry Czae, Gbaji, Sir Google and the rest for being an ars. EQ isn't as bad as my rantings, which i obviously overstated, but here's what keyed me off (I post this in hopes of a quick sigh and a "serves him right" muttered under your breath.)

I go to Old Seb, and what do we find? A level 70 farming the king. Some other Box set (they were /anon since they probably thought they'd get harped on for being farmers) farming the disco. I go to Gunthak with a level 41 toon thinking, well at least I can try to solo a bit here, oops, a level 62 BST and a level 69 Ranja clearing the beach for whatever reason. I go to the tutorial to make a new toon, oh, so sorry, some dude already guilded said he was bored of his 4 level 70 toons and was camping the pit fiend all night to get the haste item. Go to the war in Gfay thinking maybe my cleric can lend a hand and do some rezzes while my guildies try to survive a couple fights.. nope, everyone arguing over loot in /ooc, people ninja looting, pulling 5 or 6 mobs on us at a time, etc. Went to Dranik's, some 62 ranja says he wants to pull named to help a guildie of his we are grouped with. Mind, our average level was 50. He comes back with 3 to 6 and won't stop pulling. After 3 whipes we gave up there. Had a level 68 ask me how to get to Dranik's today... hmmm that's odd, not unbelievable, but odd. Then I met a 52 Warrior wielding a Zraxthril Forged Cutlass, and thought, "now there's a player geared for their level." Unfortunately she couldn't hack mobs as a tank at her level because she didn't have any twink going on. People even had the gaul to mash on her for sucking, admittedly, I was one of them.

At any rate, over the past week or so, I have had alot of run-in's with a whole bunch of toons that made a weeks worth of gaming into a horrible experience. and now I am being even worse by making this thread 'cause I am so ticked by it all. Seriously, is there a server where there aren't so many high level farmers? I haven't gamed on but a few, heard nice things about Rathe, Morden, and Stromm. Experienced nice things on Rathe and Antonius. But how do I get away from the PL and the Farming, and the loot-hungry? What control is there for these situations? It really has ruined my EQ experience, and just seems to get worse the higher I get in levels

Anyway, this made me feel better; Click

That's crap for their level. That's not even talking about twinking or inflation in the Bazaar -- there's plenty of camps where a lvl 52 Warrior could get a much better weapon as a drop. Zravthril are just the Fine Steel or Ykesha; meant to be vendor drops.

Regarding procs, different weapons potentially have different proc rate modifiers per Lucy.

As far as some of his ranting, there is a grain in there.

e.g. We find Blackburrow empty (can you believe it?) and our group of avg level 10, fresh out of the tutorial is wasting gnolls near the spike room. We were hoping to pop Lord Elgnub and see how long it took him to kill us (probably). We never got the chance. I notice Lord E pops and before we can med to full to attempt him, I see he is dead. Huh? what? We WERE the only ones there. /who reveals a level 70 (no kidding), a level 70 necromancer in BLACKBURROW. No one else besides us in zone, so he can't be PLing and what is there to farm there?

/ooc wtf is a level 70 doing in BB??

Dipwad level 70 necro says out of character 'sorry bored, you can loot the corpse if you want.'

As we all know, its all about the loot right?...sheesh..

There are going to be annoyances over the course of time, and if there is ANY possibility of super gear to be had, the contentiousness will likewise escalate. I tend to just deal with it, and use my vast network of spies and alts to find someplace/thing to do/quest where it is less crowded.

This game has been around a long time. There are what? ten expansions out now. There are many people that having been playing since day one.

So, if you're gonna play this, you need to know that there are zones for all, gear for all, play styles for all, etc, etc,. Sometimes your path will cross that of someone who's either twinked, clueless, thoughtless or worse. You can deal with it or find another game.

EQII and WoW are both fairly new MMPORPGs. You may find that you are on a much more equal footing with the players of these games than those in EQ.

If you're frutstrated and angry you are clearly missing the point of playing a game.

Since all of the PL'ed, boxed, twinked and level 70 players (which is a good portion of the population) are ruining your fun on a daily basis, we'll stop. We'll wait until you get all the gear you want and get to level 70. Let us know when you're done so we can continue playing the game that we pay to play, just like you. Feel better now?

quote is a great function. it eliminates ambiguity about what I'm talking about, especially helpful since my thoughts don't always flow in a strict order. and, uhh, since my post wasnt just your post copied it certainly has original thought in it. (and, to toot my own horn some, better thought out thought...)

/shrug, I'd not heard that term before which is why I asked. When you think about it, anyone who raids is a raid twink by that definition - no one could solo OMM.

I do not feel a need to cite data every time someone with 50 posts says that I am wrong. The supporting data is out there (and in multiple six hour parses, something that's actually reliable, not three minute snippets...)

oh, and yeah. if you look at some slightly older threads from when I was slightly more active, you'll see I don't exactly take gbs word as gospel...

you're going to have to put up with farmers -OR- go to zones where people have no reason to farm. as an averagely geared 70 melee class, farming old seb is about the best plat zone.

I figured "raid twinks" meant the bots we used to take along to fill out raid functions - all the two-boxed clerics and wizards and mages and what not.

At any rate, it's been said already. There are TONS of unused and underused zones for you to use. Moreover, if you ask someone (nicely, and without reference to twinking or entitlement or how unfair they're being to you) to share a camp, they will.

Seb's full? Go to Howling Stones or Chardok. Gunthak shore is camped? Go farther in, no one camps the elementals, for example. You can find stuff to kill if you want to.

But it's easier to piss and moan, isn't it?

The thought that I'm spoiling the game for a whinging baby like you makes me want to log in and take over Seb.

I have to agree with the original poster

PL'ers suxxors. Period.

Every hot zone i go to....or good exp zone, someone is always there with one, two and even 3 60+ toons lvl'n some green con twink that has no business being there. I twink my toons, don't get me wrong, but I always group with peeps when I know i could easily solo a camp. No such luck now a days with todays twinkers/ multi boxers.

I have vented many times over this subject in a multitude of threads but it erks me everytime i see it.

I, unfortunately, have learned to deal with it and even camp out my toons to watch whatever on TV or do other things. It's sad, but I find myself going away from this great game more and more over the past few months....maybe this is the end of a great 5 year run.

GL man, I feel for you cause I've been there.

#26 Jul 14 2005 at 6:36 PM Rating: Good
If you can't manage to play the game without bouncing from hotzone to hotzone, complaing about PL'ers the whole time, then you are an idiot. There are over 200 zones in this game. Go explore somewhere you have never been.

Of course PL'ers are going to be in the hotzones, where else can they accomplish their goal quicker.

Next time you have to "camp out" becuase you ran into a PL'er...do us all a favor and cancel you're account while you're at it.

Geesh...some people. It's a game. Play it or don't play it. I swear some people are just better suited for console games. I don't remember anyone camping Sin when I finished Final Fantasy 10. Maybe you should try that one...I hear the XP is awesome and the loots are way uber!
