GFay War outcomeon MS and other servers?Follow

Well, last night me and a bunch of Guildies wasted the whole night waiting in Gfay for the war to start. We had been there since about 8 pm (EST) and we finally gave up and logged about 11:30 pm (EST).

Anyone know what the outcome of the war was on MS?

And how'd it go on the other servers?

Povar here: well, I died 5 times - due to nuking charmed mobs mostly...

was mighty fun, but had to log when they were still fighting, so I dunno.

PS: why did the Elfs had no wizzies? they had rangers, pallies and chanters for DPS only, where the orcs had rogues... Smiley: mad

Stromm here. I died several time before I gave it up, mostly due to being in the wrong place at the wrong time and not paying enough attention. I dont know for sure if its over yet but I can tell you I looted a Orc Battle master and got 2 rusty swords.

from what I've gathered from reading different posts, the patch tomorrow is supposed to fix some issues with the war/events.

I saw some major loot drops, no clue which mobs they dropped from, but the drops seem rare as hell. I lost 5% real XP

Tunare--
The war in GFay on our server started sometime last night and when I logged on at 3:00 pm today it was still going on... It looked like the elves were winning though... due to all the chanters charming orcs and stuff but I don't know I hope the orcs win.

Am on Povar/MR server. Went over to GF as soon as off work (Tues night). Three different groups of good guys in line, waited and waited as did many others.

Gave up after a while. Heard conflicting stories about the war in GF was night before,or was going to be later on Tues. night or that it would happen after the patch today (Weds.).

Went back a lot later and nothing had changed and the zone had crashed earlier while in it.

Unless I hear otherwise, am going to check it out this afternoon when I get home from work.

Is the patch suppose to eliminate the troops that are standing there and put everything back to normal or is it to get the war going in GF?

The Povar/MR war definately occured on Monday night as I was there. Whether or not it's slated to occur again is anyone's guess but I'm guessing if it did they'd tweak the drop rates, etc.

kinda wondering hwre they are thinking of going with this, the old zones could do with a revamp i suppose but do they have to change exsisting politics of the game?

I am sure a battle over the Ro deserts leading to the finding of the old high elf city would have been doable without effecting the newbie zones.

the zones that REALLY need revamping and quests done for are the 30-50 zones, not the 1-10 zones that are not redundant with the tutorial/

I Think this is still on going on Stromm. Have to admit it got old fast watching and trying to assist in the battles in Fey. I will admit I am looking forward to what is comming next.

Xegony here....

Such an ugly server when it comes to events... never seen so much chaos before. There was no sides to the battle, just lots of killing of everything that moved and dropped phat lewts! Warlord became killable and two seconds later, he was dead. Maybe half an hour or an hour later the event was over.

I have a sneaking feeling that the event is started by a GM and ended by a GM. Since it was once our lead GM came into the zone that the event was put to a halt. Its a shame that the event didn't go on all night long... probably would have been best. Could have cut down on the number of people there all the time and given some other people a chance to do something. Haven't seen 200 people in Gfay since the Faymart days.

Nameless here...

It was a blast! I died 7 times during all the chaos and got some great loot. Here is the write up that I made on another board...

Orc's raid GFAY. 07-13-05 event.

Tymme, Littlecrow and myself were just finishing a little tradeskill romp in Hollowshade Moore. Littlecrow asked to be sent to Greater Faydark to close out the evening and obligingly I sent him on his way. All of the sudden we get a group tell from Littlecrow that there were some strange orcs in Greater Faydark and he couldn't get into Felwithe (the orcs were blocking his way)!

So Tymme and I tromped on over and sure enough, mass groups of orcs were attacking the groups of elves that were stationed throughout the zone. These guys were not the run of the mill Crushbone orcs. Most were blue to 69 and usually the orc groups had an Orc Battle Leader (Yellow to 69) amongst them. So as I was watching one of the fights, I pop the Battle Leader to see what happens. I didn't get aggro and the elves proceeded to slaughter the orcs. To my surprise I got faction and exp and the corpse didn't fade as normal when NPC kills NPC. I looted the corpse and got an amazing mask and a Lesser Elixer of Heightened learning (30pct + exp over 15min).

So I tried this technique again. The problem is that I forgot there were enchanters in the elves mix and I unknowingly nuked a charmed Battle Leader. I promply got pounded through the geometry and found myself standing in Shadeweavers thicket...naked.

Here is a little info that I learned about the orcs.

1) The groups of orcs spawn near orc hill and move out from there. Respawn time is pretty quick and a Battle Leader is with almost every group.
2) They run like the normal Crushbone orcs. J-boots can out run them.
3) They hit wicked hard.
4) They have a good amount of HP
5) It seemed the Battle Leader was the only one who had loot

Basically, you could pull the Battle Leader into a group of elves and let them do the killing. You need to do a minor amount of damage to get faction and you need to do more damage than other players (who are not in your group) in order to get loot and exp. You need to continuously con the Battle Leader to ensure he is not charmed when you attack. Be wary, the elf enchanters can charm at any time, including when you are in the middle of fighting and this can lead to undesired results.

All in all it was a chaotic mess and a hell of a lot of fun. At most there were about 87 people in zone (only like 15 when I got there). Item drops were the mask (link inc.), exp potions, illusion potions and rusty swords. The event stopped around 1:30am est at which point, I was so damn tired I don’t remember going to bed LOL. I would like to say that Felwithe and Kelethin still stands, which is a good thing. YAY

Povar server:

Was also in GFay Monday. War recurred last night (Wednesday). The principal causes of player death seems to be

1. Attacking a charmed mob
2. Getting aggro from a bunch of mobs by accident
3. Getting trained at the PoK book while rezzing.

Orcs hit me (61 ranger) for up to just over 1100 hp, mostly in 300 - 500 range. Death comes quickly!

The war seems to end with two orc armies still standing near CB entrance. One due north of Orc hill and one east of same. I did not stay for long (11:30 pm pacific) but at that point neither army could be aggro'd and both were static.

I did not check out Felwithe, but track did not show any other armies from as close ast the Kelethin PoK book.
