War Suppliers in Freeport and NeriakFollow

#1 Jul 09 2005 at 12:13 AM Rating: Decent
Archimedus Ragnarok and Pankki Hankki of the Legions of Ragnarok on Tribunal have discovered that by visiting the War Suppliers in Freeport or Neriak Foreign Quarter will yeild experience gains, faction, and various potions such as EXP potoins and illusion potions. In Freeport, see Anamain The Quartermaster, War Supplier, located in the West Freeport Gatehouse tower. Turning in old weaopns (rusty weaopns, cracked staffs, etc) yields facion gains with "The Guardian's Alliance" faction. I suspect that this has something to do with the upcomming war. Several other agents on Tribunal are exploring the suppliers in Neriak.

(Bushnell the gnome here) The war supplier in Ak'Anon is Tinkerer Sprocketsnik. He asks you to go get parts from Izibat in Shadowhaven, who is in the building with the library, right next to the library. Izibat says he wants robes (he sells robes). He gives you nothing back for his own robes, and gives back anything, like a tunic, that does not say "robe," even if it says "robes." For most kinds of robe, he gives you a Polished Alloy Cog. For a Robe of Benefits and Flowing Black Robe, he gives you an Imbued Sprocket. Robe of Enshroudment, Blackened Crystilline Robe, and Noble's Robe yield A Bundle of Parts. Ghostly Robe yielded a Tempered Spring. Siren Scale Robe yielded a Coil of Wire.

I have heard a rumor that the war suppliers can give a 30% exp potion. I tried giving various combinations of the five items to Sprocketsnik, but the only thing I got was a dark elf illusion potion. Usually he only took one thing, gave the rest back, and only yielded faction.

I tried old weapons with the gnome war supplier; he just gave them back. I heard the Kelethin one wants armor and fletching supplies. The Ak'Anon one also yields faction with The Guardian's Alliance.

Rorigon the Human of Fennin Ro did the Freeport quest, and got an Elixir of Learning (no trade - increases the amount of exp you get by 60% for up to 15 minutes). He said it was random, trading in one item at a time.

"The Ak'Anon one also yields faction with The Guardian's Alliance."

As an evil Gnome (bertoxx worshipping mage) I would like to raise faction with the evil side. it seem i cannot do this in akanon (will have to check the evil gm's in mines for a war supplier). I invised/lev'ed my way into neriak (pesky troll raiders and dreadguard i/o dont like me) but DEF war supplier juct called me a dog and wouldn't take anithing from me =/. Any ideas on what i can/should do? thanks.

EDIT 7/11/05 there are TWO war suppliers in Akanon. the one accross from the forge of defiance is for the good side, in the mines near the necro GM is an evil war supplier. hope this helps someone out there. =D

Quartermaster Mivten in Rivervale is the War Supplier. Hand him food or drink. Just to add in my experience, the items they give back seem to be totally random. They either give an illusion potion, or one of the 3 xp potions, or nothing at all (of course a positive faction hit with the guardians alliance every time). Also to note, you can use the "find" button for location.

I turned in tons of stuff to the war supplier in neriak.I got only faction. No experience,no rewards, nothing but faction with dark suppliers.

(Bushnell here) The troll war supplier in Neriak wants troll-sized armor, heavy weapons, and shields. He gives DarkSupplier faction.

With all of the war suppliers, they will take the same item once, then refuse it, then take it. Hailing them seems to help get them to take the item - has anyone had any luck with getting them to take items more consistently?

I am a barbarian shaman, and the Freeport guy won't take anything from me, any ideas? There was a human monk there too and he could not get him to take anything.

/edit The monk finally got it to accept, and I got the guy in Halas to accept.

There's a timer on hand-ins. Hand in, say, an arrow and then another arrow and the guy will refuse the second. Wait about thirty seconds and he'll take the second.

There's a limit to how much stuff the NPCs actually want. When they stop giving the xp message, they won't give potions out any longer though they still give faction. I was giving things to the Kelethin wood elf supplier and getting nothing when a couple lvl 70's came by and said they were going to kill her to reset. She died and, sure enough, my next bunch of hand-ins gave me xp and various potions (about 1-in-5 times). Mainly illusion potions but I got a 10 dose Greater Learning (+60% xp) and a couple minor ones.

Well after 100 turn ins or so, I got approximately 10 illusion potions and one minor exp potion.

Speed: give him 4 items, if they reject you have them on your cursor, then you can click on him 4 times (or 3 or whatever) and he takes when the timer is up. He never takes more than one item, but it went a lot faster this way. I kept giving him mostly daggers.

As said above, use the find button, that's how I found the Halas one.

Has anyone confirmed: Does it have to be home city, of was the Freeport one being just temporarily uncooperative?

My wood elven bard cons Warmly in Paineel and was politely told that "unless you're here to lend your bones to my research, you'd best be gone..."

I think it's a per-race thing. My bard was also told to **** off by the half-elven Supplier in Kelethin and had to use the wood elven one. I don't know if there's a difference between Qeynos and Freeport humans though.

His name is Commander Ossyl, he is in Cabilis East, and he wants troll and dark elf heads and froglok meat. He is on Dark Supplier faction.

The war supplier in Freeport would not talk to me (gnome chanter), even after I cast Illusion: Human.

Was at work and limited for time, but visited the riverdale one with my 66 Halfing Rogue, gave in 3 stacks of Iron Rations and also a 1/2 stack of Holy cakes as he said they especailly wanted magic food and drink. I did not get anything extra for the magic food. I got 1 essence of ogre during the hand in of the 3 stacks of iron rations. My faction before I started was kindly and it was the same when I was done. I got exp on my halfling for the first 5 iron rations I handed in, switching to the holy cakes after all Iron Rations were done did not get me exp. It did not move my experience bar at all though.

Note there were no negative faction hits. Therefore it could be possible for some ie gnomes, erudites and humans to get both factions up. I will try to see if dark elf mask enables handin at neriak later tonight.

I also bought up my 24 froggie cleric to see if his experience would be noticable. I handed in two items and got no exp at all, only faction. His faction was indiff to start and was same after the two hand ins.

Q. I wonder why the faction was different to start for froggie and halfling? The level or race perhaps? Or does some other faction influence it?

There's a high elf supplier in Kelethin next to the half and wood elven ones. I assume that's your lady.

All I can say is that it might be a good idea to "buy" at the bazaar right now. I'm expecting if this goes on for any lenth of time, we'll get a PP flood that'll start raising prices.

Without even trying, I found an stupidly easy way to make about 1200-1500pp an hour just by buying junk and turning it in to these guys.

The gnomish, troll, and dark elf war suppliers are currently dying over and over, too quickly to even click on them, at least on Fennin Ro. You get the message that they died with their usual name, but all three of them looked like a naked male human. Very strange ....

Same in Rivervale, rumor has it that the GM's started this kill cycle because the quest was kind of bugged. In Rivervale you could make 2k+ pp and 3-5 greater quest potions in 2 hours (or at least I did tonight)...

AFAIK the war suppliers disappear when the war is over. Go figure, eh?
