My Dialogue from Yesterday (saturday) as I remember it.....

Me: "I'm going to go take a run to EC and see what's up."
Person I was in /tell with: "EEK!"
ME: "It can't be that bad."

I Zone in to EC and stop right at the mouth of the tunnel.

I /ooc this: "So how bad is it.......(I never got to finish my sentence)" You have been hit for 625 damage! (Couple hits for 200-400 in there) You have been hit for 625 Damage! You have been hit for 572 Damage (three times). You feel the (something something) and Take 1107 Damage. LOADING......PLEASE WAIT.

This happened in the space of seconds. I didn't even have time to AA rune, which is instant cast, or run. They attack in groups, I think I saw 3 diffrerent mob names when I went down.

Not sure what this war is about? This has been escelating for several months now. Maybe you should be following the recent story of this "roleplaying" game to find out what it's about.

As a paladin of Tunare I will of course be supporting the elvish side.
Just the other day while riding through East Commonlands heading from Lava Storm to the adventurers camp in the tunnel I found myself galloping through a large group of Neriak scouts headed up by a captain. I shouted to the citizens of the Commonlands about my discovery and advised they arm themselves. I then rode near Freeport (not to near, the corrupt guards there will attack me on sight) and repeated my shout. I warned the younger adventurers hunting spiders and bats not to go far from the city.
I contacted a few friends (all with at least 65 seasons of adventuring) and we positioned ourselves at a spot where we hoped we could safely entice one or two of the scouts to come to us without leading them to the city or the adventurers camp in the tunnel.
Our ranger successfully pulled a single scout to our location and we were able to dispatch him with difficulty. When we searched the corpse after we died we found only rusty weapons. I can only conclude that major magic was involved for such substandard weapons to hit so hard.
Upon returning home to report to my paladin guild master the following day I was pleased to note the extra protection stationed around Greater Faydark.
I wish the Froglocks well and the few honest citizens of Freeport. I will be concentrating my efforts defending Felwaith.

As an Iksar Necromancer I feel it's time for everything that moves to give up and surrender to Cazic Thule. Only a matter of time, really.

If surrender doesn't happen, well, then I'd vote for the Trolls. Dark Elves and High Elves have already imprinted themselves on Kunark and deserve to be kicked off. Trolls on the other hand were kicked out of their home by nasty Frogloks (known to roam in large numbers on Kunark). Bout time the Trolls gained revenge...and since some Trolls worship Cazic Thule that helps as well.

I will be on no ones side. I will be steering clear of these zones totally now. This is one addition that someone at SOE turned up to work, drunk, stoned AND legally braindead. There is no point in the DE's being in EC. You can attack them and they spawn again in 3 minutes so you get no feeling of satisfaction of having at least wiped out one of their camps. They drop no loot, give no xp, no faction, NOTHING. There is no sense in killing them... PERIOD.

I would turn on sarcasm, but this doesn't even deserve sarcasm. Sarcasm is saved for someone who screws up unintentionally. This aint intentional, someone somewhere was totally clueless and screwed the pooch implementing this "quest".

Do yourself a favor and steer clear of antonica and faydwer zones that involve this quest. You get nothing for it, not even the gratification of killing one of the slimy darkie scumsuckers, because as soon as you do and run back for another pull, he respawned and is sitting there waiting for you.

Do yourself a favor and stay away, it aint worth the hassle and the corpse run.

This one wins the moronic move of the year award in my book... the big winner of the DOH! award this year.

well, if there is no loot, no exp why bother. 5 to whatever min later they respawn, and the story goes on. Killing anything story related has no bearing on how the story will play out. It's nice that SOE tries to add a backstory to the game, but it does nothing to build my character.

lol it's actually much like the DL war but over multiple zones is all. in DL, two factions were on opposite sides of the zone, good outside the tunnel to FV, and evil outside the tunnel to hidden valley, where the druid port-in was. I forgte if they even saw through invis, and I was wondering if anyone knew if the DEs in EC saw through invis maybe?

oh and I don't believe there were quests for the FV/DL war either till later in the story, so maybe count on some tasks/quests/expos being added soon?

I am on the dark elfs side.....
1. i AM a dark elf
2. trolls and those weak high evles are nothing but slaves to us(not onlt that the trolls stunk up our foreign quater)

o btw, do these guards favor the dark elf players at all? i havent been on in a bit just want to know

Side with the trolls! Why? Because Dark Elves are clever slaves, albeit surly and disloyal. And the High Elves are vegetable matter suitable for ingestion. Although the woman make good pleasure mates for our harems, with the offspring being bratlings, goblins and assorted denizens best described in half-terms that leave most people uneasy.

The age of might is upon you. Reason is a tool of the inherited nobility and their vassals to suppress and beguile. It's time has passed and glory will once more be the common currency among sentient beings!

Now were did I put my pickling agent? Pickled Froglok for all!

Not even if 2 of em carried it together?

Personally I think that we should let the Dark elves overrun Freeport. Thin the Hu-mans out a bit. At least let the darkies wipe out that vile militia before driving them back into the bowels of Norrath from wence they where expelled.

Well, I've been doing some of the iksar newbie quests this weekend and I ran into some scouts patrolling the river in Feerott. I was invis at the time to avoid the Bouncers so there was no indigo interference.

There is some talk about what's going on in Innothule here:

http://eqforums.station.sony.com/eq/board/message?board.id=Lore&message.id=5431

I put up the news from Cabilis on that thread which gives me a smiggan of hope that maybe the iksar will actually do something this time around. I find it interesting that Granix says the exact same line he spouts for the Cudgel Quest.

There's also a task that takes you on a rampage into an instanced Gukta. I couldn't finish the task for reasons you'll find here:

http://eqforums.station.sony.com/eq/board/message?board.id=TNZ&message.id=186394&page=5

EDIT: forgot to mention there is now a mob in PoK near the soulbinder named 'a noble scholar'. Looks like a high elf and doesn't respond to hails. Any ideas what he wants? I just wanna smack him till he talks everytime I run past him.

been soloing red captains at level 68 on druzzil ro in EC. I can drop a captain with 70m to spare with no pet, and the captains do give exp without faction hits. The Scouts and the Troopers seem to give faction hits and no exp with corpse poofing on death. I did get one essence of dark elf, but I am a dark elf, so that was a bit worthless. The faction hits you recieve seem to lower and raise faction with the DoN faction sets, and seem to be pretty big negative hits.

btw: The captains cannot be split from their squads when they are roaming it seems.. If you pull the captain out with snare to try to immobilize him while the others roam back, you will be promptly notified that they ALWAYS follow the captain. There is a set of stationary soldiers who stand pretty close to the EC tunnel (just east of the tunnel mouth) from which you can single captains out. Just snare --> FD --> wait... hehe have fun!

The soldiers are all over the place in the area of Kelethin. So help me, if sony gave my hometown to evil forces I would scream. I have worked too hard on my cultural quests to have the forge locked up in a city I cant get into!!!!

I will be helping the high elves.

Edit**

There is a cultural forge in Kelethin that the wood elves cannot use. One of the merchants there now sells mithril and before you had to go to Felwithe to get it.

Does this mean that Sony has already planned for the High elves to lose?

Playing both sides to my advantage of course. You really need to consult me for categories to your 'polls'. I guess 'kill whatever moves' is closest.
