Rating and being ratedFollow

I really hate it when I'm trying to help and get rated down for it.

I don't think that I'm offending anyone with my posts; of course, some of them are unnecessary comments of just babble (hope not most of them), and I don't mind if I get a bad rate on one of those. But when I'm trying to help with a post, it really makes me sick being rated down for it.

Yes, maybe I'm taking it a bit too seriously... but maybe I just got a bad day today and want to rant a bit.

I hear you..
Remove it or make it so you only rate a specific topic imo.
Even jackasses that have low rating make good threads or posts once in a while but noone will read them cause they are low rated.
Anyways, rated you up to make you feel better.. :P

Worked for me! Mby cause im premium member?
Atleast it didnt give me any error messages...

People rating down good informational posts all the time.. I dont get it.. why? I only waste my time on rating people up and I do it everytime I see a good post.

Feck me!!!
I tried rating someone with a lowpostcount, that way I could see if my rating worked and it seems your correct.. :(
Now that completly sux! I have wasted so many hours rating peoples post instead of posting a reply saying I agree.. All those hours wasted :(

It's usually best to just ignore the rating system IMHO.

Most of the time someone will rate you up or down based on if they like you or not. Lord knows I didn't get Sage status by being helpful Smiley: cool

Yeah I guess so.. rating system here is pretty flawed..
It workes very good on the official boards though imo. So much spam on thoose baords using the ratings to find the good threads is great.
Wish we had that system here :)

The rateing system is broken here. It normally is a popularity contest. The idea is a good one, but flawed in its excution.

I've never paid much attention to the ratings (mine or anyone else's). Can you tell which (of your own) posts got rated up or down? I see my rating and it changes from time to time, but I never know whether it was one post of mine or another that might have triggered someone to apply a rating......

If you go to your account settings there is a link there to show your posts. I have looked in there to see a trend of rate ups and downs. Wont tell you who but you can see trends.

Seems I have only really gotten rated on two posts with big hits .. one down, one up and both were rare occasions when I came out of lurker status in the Asylum Smiley: wink2 but I expect it there and tread those threads at my own risk.

A round of rate-up's for everyone!

There, I think that proves how pointless the whole systems is...lol

When I am looking up items or quests, I’m able to rate a post. I select the rating from the drop down, and then click the “Rate This Post” button. I don’t tend to rate much in this part of Alla, unless I see some stellar information.

But… When I start a thread on the EverQuest Forum, I am unable to give rates up. I really would like to be able to. When some take the time and effort to answer my question, I’d like to praise them with an up rating.

Since I am unable to I’ll do it this way.
A big thanks to: SceltorEltor, The One and Only Frakkor, Kajolus, Dothammer, Jiggidyjay of the Seven Seas, bravehardt, zodon, Wehalk, gbaji, Whitman, Lognakaiser, SuiG, BumbiRagnar

Rate up all around!

*Note this was for the "game commands" thread*

The irony is that after all the incindiary comments I make here, the one I get rated down at least twice for, was the comment about how useless the rating system is (and after giving everyone else a rate-up). I love it!
