/rant on (as if you didn't know...)

Man, I don't know where to start...

Don't get me wrong, I like the new tutorial...

I am in the tutorial last night, almost to level 10. Was fun to do and I had done all the tasks save killing the big boss.

So I go down, get in the group that is *camping* this guy so I can get credit for the kill. My LDoN BP is better than the reward but I am just trying to finish up all the tasks.

The group consists of a couple level 10s, and 2 level 11s. Couple of these people have TEMP if you can believe it. I ask 'why'?. I am going with my level 10 Cleric buffs. Honestly you DO NOT NEED TEMP. With Light Healing I was able to keep the group healed (even the temped ones) and have 50% mana left after the 2 minutes it took to take the mob down. I am guessing they wanted the 10% haste item it drops THAT BADLY. One them was bemoaning the fact that his haste buff was fading!

I mean seriously, we could defeat this mob with 2 players, one a cleric, with self buffs or tutorial buffs only. 4 players with temp? And camping a tutorial mob to boot?

So then they all have to comment about their level 70 mains with 200 AA, I mean really, I am not impressed. You are in the tutorial for petes-sake. You are temped and hasted and are fighting a level 12 mob. I won't bore you with all the uber links I was seeing, but one of these people linked a Soulscream Belt. I felt embarassed only having 'twinked' myself with homemade LDoN crafted armor.

heh oh well...have a nice day...

/rant finished for now

Hey at least you were able to find a group and were able to find something to kill.

I zoned in with my newbie rogue and there were over 130 peeps in the zone.

And it was all just like you say everyone bragginf about their 70 mains linking stuff like the soulscream belts, linking health potion x and one linked a 41% hast aug he was using.

The new layout in the tutorial is nice but I could do without all the twink bs in there.

Oh and grats to Club Fu on thier successful Overlord MM raid last week.

To my understanding isn't haste capped at the level of your toon till level 20?

I had to chuckle at the OP. I have noticed the same thing in the new tutorial. But it doesent end there, I was helping out a guildy in PC last night and you should of seen the twink items being bragged on. I allways found it amuseing to find folk with guild tags in the tutorial as well.

Alts my boy, alts...

We tag them so if something is up, we can put the call out via guild chat for them to quit fooling around in the tutorial and get on their mains heehee...Smiley: wink

Edit: 'cause I can't type goodly

I had the same over-crowding experience when I went to check it out on Sunday night. 80-something people there and you could tell that most of them were just little alts just rolled up to explore the place, the bastards. Of course, that's what I was doing too...

Lol. I'm sorry, but they're either really pathetic and/or lying. While I know lots of people that level that do as you do (want to do everything in the tutorial for the fun and experience of doing it). If you've actually got a main that level, what on earth do you need to camp the mob? Kill him once. Finish the tutorial, and move on...

Pssst. I solo farm the mob that drops the soulscream belt (cause that camps not bad exp for my level paladin). And trust me. If I can solo it, it's definately not "uber" at all...

I miss the old fashioned ways. When I started my main there was no tutorial, just a rusty sword, some food, and a tunic. Got myself to Freeport somehow and commenced killing rats. I remember how fun that was!

Hi Dot,

I bet all those twinked toons showing off their gear were only trying to impress you. Smiley: grin

I like the tutorial but what's gonna happen to all the newbie yards? Will they become worthless?

I have only once twinked a tutorial character and that was just a robe and weapon (wanted to start a Mage to get her high enough to make pet kits for my Shammy's dogdog and then let her sit without levelling her anyway). The rest were just to take a break and they were all on servers where I had no other characters at the time. It's fun to go back to having to do for yourself and even appreciate when someone gives you some hand me down equipment for your newbie char but it helps knowing what you can do and what will send you right back to your bind point lol. I have these baby characters on AB, Povar and Bristlebane so I can get myself lost but guildies can find me (inter-server tells) if they need me.
