Brewing is absolutley the cheapest and fastest tradeskill to raise.

None of the tradeskills will get you rich until much later (250+ skill) and lots of farming.

I worked brewing from 0 - 199 in a day and for less than 400pp.

Check out EQ Trader's Corner for more info on tradeskills.

Don't look to get rich doing them however.

I've skilled up baking just because I foraged so many of the raw materials. But yeah, you're not going to get rich from trade skills until very high levels.

I managed to make a bit of money in (lower level 150-200) smithing, but it helps if the server is new and there are lots of people who need mid level gear like LDoN crafted stuff. If you can farm the tempers and FS, the chain is cheap to make and you can get 100-200pp per item.

Trouble is the market for that stuff is down (especially with DoN cultural stuff). DoN stuff is also an option, but your market is limited to YOUR race.

Brewing is easiest as explained. Materials are cheap and vendor sold so you can afford to make 100s combines to get those elusive skillups above 200. You might get 1 skillup in 20 combines if you are lucky.

For brewing if you have access to Abysmal Sea (Gates of Discord) all the ingredients for Minotaur Hero's Brew are sold by NPCs. This will take you to 248.

I leveled up on various stuff to get within striking distance of Hero's Brew, like Faydwer Shakers to 188 (all vendor sold).

To get to 250 I made demi-sec champaign but you need a 196 jewelry subcombine for that (or buy from me for 75pp!).

After that there are a few items not too expensive to skill up to 255 but you need OoW forages.

The old standby after that is Kaladim Constitutional to 300.

Everything tradeskilled with very little effort and PP already has 40 bazillion people doing it and the results are valueless in the bazaar. see fishrolls, kiolas, leather padding, steins, geerloks, backpacks, sow potions, etc, etc.

Making PP is not a good reason to do tradeskills in this game, you would be far better off leveling and farming pp or vendor trash if that is your goal.

You will not 'get rich' on tradeskills as a rule.

It is handy to have though. I have mostly benefitted by being able to create things cheaper than they are in the bazaar for my use or guild use.

Most of the plat you obtain from selling items just helps to defray your costs and stakes you for the next round of skillups.
