What is the best way to get to Twighlight Sea?

I'm a 36 DE Necro.

I just managed to get a rez after my ill fated attempt at running through Fungus Grove. Invis started to run out, I started re-casting, they were on me. Done. One of the fastest times I have ever died. I saw my HP bar at 100 percent, then 12 percent. then "You have been slain by..." That was it.

(It was a "mutant" something)

I thought about going the long way around, but I don't know what those zone are like. Maybe it will be an excercise in exploration and maybe I should do that, but that leads me to the question about faction in Katta Castellum and if guards there will put me in the ground.

I hear there is a wizzy port area there, which I could try, but I like to be self sufficient if at all possible. This might be the only way though. How much does a port to TS usually go for? No response in PoK.

I want to hunt in Scarlet Desert. I hear it was a hote zone, and great XP and room to kite.

Ok here goes, stand in PoK type /ooc paying 30pp for a port to Twighlight Sea.

Wait 5 secs for a plat hungry Drood to wisk you away.

Here endth the lesson.

or you could go via Shadeweavers, Shar Vhal, Hollowshade Moor, Grimling forest, Teneb Mts and Katta. Have fun.

The run itself is long boring and occasionally dangerous and get very old after the first couple of time, Teneb is a 40+ zone with see invis mobs, Katta guards don't like necro's and in the end its easy to get a port if you are willing to front up some PP.

And to put Sd into perspective my wifes necro was still hunting some of the mobs at 50+ and the end mobs are VERY tough for a 36.

Hard to kite, with multiple wide aggro mobs that wander.

great zone when you learn how to hunt it though and it's never dark or raining Smiley: grin

Wizzy' TLs and Druid' GGs
I did the same thing on my necro. Just stay there as long as you can stomach before leaving. And don't leave till 45 because the next hot zone, the grey, is a b***h at 40.

I can only second Tarv. we fought a bit at the entrance with a group last night. and of course, you can kite if yer careful. well, if yer careful that is...;) the Cheetahs, flowerie type thingies and crawlers are social. be careful (did I mention careful?). the nomads do cast, nasty slow...

at the moment I park my wizzie there every night, first two vet rewards on. when I log back in, I make 1,5 - 2 yellers solo in 30 mins, if I am lucky (wiz is lvl 37 atm).

come on, pay for the port...one of the last few places where a wiz actually comes in handy Smiley: cool

I dont mind paying for the port. Looks like I'll be taking the wizzy express. :-D

And point taken about being careful. Hopefully I can stay close to the zone line and pull.

I have been been practicing my technique and am getting it down pretty good. (Ask all those Hill Giants) ;-)

Thax ya'll!

A much shorter way is through Echo Caverns and Fungus Grove.

The run through Fungus Grove could be dangerous, but then most of Norrath is dangerous for a 36 Necro so you should be well used to it by now.

Just flop your way along the zone wall then up the hill/bridge thingy to the Twilight Sea zone out. Have invis on when you do zone out as the mage guys in the mage castle are probably KoS to you.

If I were doing it I would use the right hand zone wall, just dodge around the bandits and lotus plants. Very few of the Shi'kna see invis so you should be fine getting up the "bridge" to the zone out.

As long as you're quick and you pay attention, you should do fine with just root while you're in Scarlet Desert. It worked for me.

Assuming you have the DoN expansion, use the teleporter gnome in your guildhall.

Trip through Katta would also require invis as a Necro is likely to be KoS.

He would need to be in a guild to use guild transport gnome (and have DoN)

Trip through Fungus Grove is the shortest if you do not have a port. If you can channel through a few hits, have gate up in-case invis drops. You will also need invis to get through the zone entrance as those mobs in the tower probably wont like Necros either.

At level 36 I would look for a port.
