You know, every once and a while, EQ will throw you a bone. I have recently been in a rut with grouping and such.
But just when you least expect it, EQ threw me a bone.
I was camping the Warlords in KC with my 54 monk and after 4 rounds of spawns...... TADA! A Drolvarg Pawbuster appeared in front of me! I was really there for good xp, but when he spawned my heart skipped a beat. Its things like this that renew my faith in EQ and makes me excited to play the game.
Please use this post to share uplifting experiences that may have renewed your excitement with EQ. Receiving my KC pipe has definately renewed the faith in my monk.

been working on the epic for my lowbie monk. Got raster in just over 1 hour, targin the rock in about 2.5 hours, and after 12 or so hours (not all at once), still no pawbuster :/
It also did take me several agonizing hours to get the shaman to pop in SK. Monk epic is easy, but damn almost every step deals with a rare spawn.

Raster= 38 hours off and on
Targin= 40 hours and counting (Mostly during the Fabled time frame go figure)
Pawnbuster= 3 trips and about 20 hours
I ask the EQ Gods, "Where is my Bone ?!?!?! lol

I probably shouldn't post this with the problems of the pawbuster... But yesterday I ran my monk down to warlords to do some quick xping and sure enough pawbuster was there waiting on me. No one else was in KC zone so I logged on another account and ran down to loot the pipe again.

P.S. Have any of you monks attempted the Whistling Fists quest? I have most of it completed if anyone has any questions. I would like to know how hard the dino was to kill, and if it is actually possible to solo the final turn in to CT.

I am a Monk of the Celestial Fists so I understand your excitement. Well done.
When did I get "excited" about EQ? In 6 years there have been quite a few moments but I can recall a few that stand out above the rest:
As a level 53 Rogue in 2001 on a Plane of Hate raid. There used to be an Asian Timezone Hate Raid every day for months on end. It was my 5th week. We had 2 camps set up for various reasons. Suddenly, an /ooc from the other camp appeared on my screen;
"Rogue BP!" I was next on the list. That was THE uber Rogue chestpiece at the time.

Making it to level 50 on my Necromancer in 1999 before Kunark.
Most recently, obtaining my 340th Radiant Crystal. My Monk is level 67 and will use them to buy the nice DoN 2hb, Signal Fire Scepter. As a non-guilded, non-raiding Monk, DoN has opened up a whole world of gear for people like me.
