Orc raid Last Nigth at BB docksFollow

I am a Newbie to EQ been here for about a month. So last night a NPC in BB starts yelling They are coming, Please help. Some peeps are OOCing and I figure out Its Orc's at the docks. I run there as fast as I can. I see more peps in one place than I have ever seen anywhere in the game. All pounding on some High lv Orc Pirate dudes (I think the orc's where lv 60+) I am lv 18 Pal now and everyone there was way Red to me I picked out a named NPC and start with my Bow I used up 40 or so arrows before he fell and he had 2 tanks on him and at least one caster. I was hitting him for about 17 dp with probobly a 60% hit rate. The rest of the hit detail was going to fast for me to read. I turns my efforts to another named NPC and expelled the remaining 60+ arrows. He was down to about 43% again with 3-4 peps pounding on him. I take out my Blade and start back slashing the bad guy. Figuring I will never get agro and take damage. (who notices a misquito in the middle of a nuke attack)Boy was I wrong when he got down to about 20% he turned and hit me three times. I was Temped with around 1450 hp. This big A$$ hole hit me for about
425 on the last hit I missed the first two. I went like for 98% to 42% to 11% to nighty night. Boy was this a blast. I dont know how often this stuff happens but If anyone can clue me in This is the kind of mental distraction I was hoping to find when I came here. YA HOOOOOOOO :)

if that is the kinda play you look for I would suggest gaining a few lvl's and then joining an up and coming raid guild.
I also love to raid, very fun.

Sounds like he turned on enrage, by the way. :-)

When some higher-level mobs get to 20% or so, they enrage. That means they hit faster and riposte (return) every hit they take from the front. Generally when a mob enrages the tank turns attack OFF and continues to taunt the mob. However, because he's no longer attacking it's easy for one of the damage dealers behind him to get the mob's attention and turn him.

When that happens, everyone who is now in front of the mob is going to get hit - more so if they're still attacking.

Sounds like a fun fight, though. Raiding might be your thing, as stated. There's really no need to wait til the end game to raid; if you can find enough people your level just take on something that's red to all of you.

As a quick note, Enrage always happens exactly when the mob ticks down from 10%, though it may come a second or two later due to server lag.

So as a sub 25 I could look for raids in rathe I could bang on a few Giants make sure I am out of the way by the time they get down to 20 or so. Then beg for the un wanted loot and not really **** anyone off? ( I can see it now, I yell "Lv 18 Pal here to steal your camp HeHe can I loot your unwanted drops." to a Guild raid of lv45+ in Rathe Mtn.:)

Uh, yeah, don't do that. No one likes beggars, and the giants in Rathe don't drop anything but money, which is what most people farm them for in the first place.

What I meant was that you could gather up a group of players at your level and take on mobs that are pretty hard for all of you to kill. That's what raiding is, in essence.
