Just didn't want to bump that message where the guy wants passwords for an account. Feel free to respond here for any questionable posts. Do not feed the trolls either...(feed me!)

Ahem..

Does that guy REALLY think someone here has an old EQ account lying around and wouldn't mind giving away the password? Or just a sock-troll?

Doesn't feeding the trolls in a seperate thread STILL consitute feeding the trolls?

So when are we allowed to discuss the atrocity that was the DoN mission last night Smiley: laugh

It could happen, I suppose. The problem (well, one of the problems) is that the giver could yoink the account back at any time. Not such a big deal if you got it free, I suppose.

Other than being against the EULA, you also have to take into account that you don't know what the characters' reputations are like; also, there's a decent chance that you won't have a clue about how to play that character - particularly at higher levels.

I wouldn't flame him for it, but I'd prefer to get my own account and start fresh, personally. The only reason I'd consider getting a second hand account these days is to PL a character up to a level where she could find a group, and only then if it were a class I'd played before.

Naw, it's in a controlled environment, like a zoo! If they poke their heads in this thread, you just ignore them. "Don't look 'em in the eye honey, they can smell fear!!"

Well if we don't name the sock or troll it might work.

My point was, I did not want to bump that post, and others like it. Not the best solution, granted.

When someone pops in with ONE post to their credit and starts asking for passwords you have to think it is either someone who is

a) clueless
b) more guts than brains
c) troll looking for responses

There are posts of this ilk often enough. There are some legitimate newcomers who might appreciate a heads-up about scammers.

Most here are willing to follow the rules and have nothing against PAYING for the game. Why should we put up with scammers?
