Yet again my UI has been changed to default. EQ is really pis[/Red]sing mee of with this. How do I go about changing it back? I've already tried loading it through the options screen...no go. Changed all my .ini files that I could find. Still nothing. I really wish they would just quit di[red]cking with it already.

Do you mean that the window positions have returned to the default location, or your UI skin has reverted to the default skin?

I'm a little confused as to what you mean by SoE has changed your UI to default.

For the Skins UI I have a special folder that contains the Hotkey, Group, Buffs Bar, and player info UIs in it. After every patch I copy these to the default UI folder to keep it the way I like. This insures I have all the current UIs and all my interfaces are working properly.

Also You may be talking about your character information such as hotkey macros and such. If your character was just transfered to a new server you will be on the default. In your EQ directory there are 2 configuration files called UI_Charactername_servername.ini and Charactername_servername.ini all you need to do is reaname these files to your current server.

Both.

They are. I'll go check again, but I'm gonna be pis[red][/red]sed if I can't get my old UI back.

There is also an .ini file with your charater name and all your bazaar prices.

So you have to change at least 3 files per character if the server name changed.

If you're still having problems, I've altered a few UI files that use the default skins, but contain more of the info that custom UI's generally have. Unless EQ has made some drastic UI changes in the past month, they should still work.

Screenshot.

If you're interested, just PM me an e-mail address and I'll send them over with my gmail account.

If you are using a custom UI then make sure you have the most up to date version. It is a while back now but the last patch messed up a lot of the custom UIs. Had to re download mine.

IF EQ can't load part of your UI it will use the default.

Also make a new directory for your custom UI (in your eqdirectory \uifiles\whateveryouwanttocallit. Loading your prefered ui in a clean directory will make sure you dont have any bad files messing things up.
