First of all is search forums broken? I couldnt get it to do anything.

The main thing i wanted to know was if someone can link the site that talks about the different pets for each class. I have seen it listed before on alla but cant remeber the name of the site.

Any help will be appreciated.

Search forums are working fine. I just used it a few minutes ago. I didn't find what you were looking for though.

I did find this thread at a BL site that discusses exactly what you're asking though, and they have some links. It's still not exactly what you were looking for, but it's better then nothing Smiley: tongue.

I don't have, or know about, the link that you are asking for but here is my understanding of pets.

Magician-Earth, root spell~High hp
Water, ice based direct damage spell~Evened out stats
Fire, fire based DD and damage shield~High offense
Air, stun spell~high defense or agility?

Necromancer- Warrior or Rogue pets with lifetap procs. Can also feign death with an AA ability.

Shaman- Spirit wolves with decent hp but pretty sub-par damage output without spirit of panther.

Beastlord- Animal pets with a good deal of life and moderate damage, get spell procs from a beastlord line of spells. Vah shir get tigers, ogres get bears, trolls get alligators, barbarians get wolves and iksar get scaled wolves. (Looks don't make a difference in pet efficiency)

Enchanter- Animated sword and shield, or swords. They have pretty poor life and damage output, but on the plus side you can cast night's dark terror on them and haste.

There are 3 real pet classes, and a few other classes can charm mobs as pets.

Out of the 3 pet classes, magician's elemental pets are most verstile.

lower level mage pets are like Inida descripted. Starting from high 50's (58?), mage pets take some dramatic changes.

fire pet becomes wizard (very useless imo), week melee, low hp, fire DS, casts nukes and roots.

earth pet becomes warrior (maybe?), ok melee, high hp, casts root.

air pet becomes warrior (?), ok melee, high defense, ok hp, casts stun.

water pet becomes rogue, good melee, ok defense, ok hp, backstabs, casts cold nuke.

I *believe* the air pet is a monk. Earth pet is definately a warrior.

Shadowknights are also technically a pet class, but we work differently then all the others. We get gimp necro pets half our level (until the 68 pet). Though nothing spectacular, their dps is quite handy when soloing.

Necromancer pets are for the most part warriors, though in the 50s and 60s we get rogue pets (wth backstab) and one monk pet (with flying kicks).

The other thing SK pets are good for is dying for their master as we run for the zoneline. Bone chip for possibly not needing a rez. Go pet, go!

This is a common misconception. The air pet is actually nothing more than a high mitigation warrior with a stun proc.

Yeah, I think the "monk" rumor started because of the mitigation.

I always thought the mitigation itself was in large part because of the stun, until I set an air pet against a giant. Nope, it's real mitigation.
