Hey Ho my fellow EverQuesters.

I stop playing for a couple of months, caus of my exams etc. And now am wondering whether there have been any major changes to the game? Any new graphics, I only have Classic and Kunark, but am buying Plat etc, asap.

Also, are the populations of servers increasing? caus when I left, they seemed to be a abit, well....dead......lol....

Iwotton,
First off, Gratz on getting the exams out of the way!!! They are such a pain!

To address you quest on EQ's populations. They are doing great! I play on Torv aka Fenin Ro. I see around 400+ traders in the baz nightly. When I do go LFG it's not for long.

Oh, Welcome Back to EQ!

Hey Alla, where is the spell check lol

If you plan on buying plat why not try WOW or FF? Plat buyers tend to be the worst played toons and EQ doesent need another......

I can't be sure, of course, but given the context of the statement and capital P in Plat, I would guess that the OP meant he was buying EQ Platinum edition, not platinum pieces from disreputable web sites.

Hello, I play on Prexus server and the population has greatly increase after the merger of TT server with Prexus. However this has not helped the low/ mid lvl ranges in terms of grouping. Well, it has helped out some...but not like what was expected. If you play during peak times....I would say you shouldn't have too much trouble.

I’m assuming (which is a bad thing) Iwotton is referring to buying the Platinum addition from SOE. The only reason is he/she refers to only having the Classic and Kunark expansions.

But on the other hand, can you tack the Platinum addition to an existing account? If this is what your trying to do, I’d make sure it will work. For some reason, I think you may end up with two accounts???

Some one please jump in and correct me if I’m rong.

Thanks,

edit for spelling

When you buy something like the platinum edition, you can either upgrade your current account or create a new one. It steps you through that option when installing.

The servers have all recently merged, meaning most servers have double populations now. Overall it is a good change and you should be able to find groups most nights. There have been quiet a few changes since kunark that have been documented well if you check back a few pages for threads titled "Old player coming back" etc...

Hey, thanks alot people.

Another question, Im currently patching EQ and its taking ages, like 21hours overall, be ready by tommorow morning at 9:00am. lol. Darn 56k.
lol, that wasnt the question! This is: Will my stuff be on my warrior toon after not playing for 4-5 months?? Will I still be in my guild?? So many questions!! hehe...

Your characters should still have all items. I've cancelled my account several times and the items were always there.

As for the guild, that just depends on whether your guild leader/officers have kicked you out after not being there for so long. Has nothing to do with your account.

Should be. Look at the end of your toons' names though. When your server merged, you may have run into a name confliction. In those cases, they amend an X to the end of the toon that's been "alive" the shortest amount of time. You get a free name change if you're one of the Xers.

That's impossible for us to know. Try going to your guilds website and post in the forums to see if they still have you guilded. Some guilds regularly clean up their rosters (my guild did it just last month) while some will never remove a toon, period. It's also possible that with the server merges, your guild decided to move to an entirely new server.

The huge patch time is probably because you have all of the expansions being patched at once on your 56k connection. You could turn off most expansions, and patch basic EQ first then log in and play. While playing you can restart the patcher, and have it start patching other expansions. Also, if you stop the patcher (or it fails for some reason) all the files you did up until then won't be repatched when you start again.

Sad thing is by the time you get patched less than a week later is the next patch to download. Welcome ack to EQ BTW.
